It Came from Beneath the Sink!

After sloughing through Monster Blood 3, I was pleasantly surprised by It Came from Beneath the Sink! which I think is one of the more underrated Goosebumps offerings. Kat and Daniel have just moved when they find a strange sponge under their sink that seems to be alive. However, things start going really wrong after the sponge is discovered, and they soon find out that it's a mythological creature that feeds off bad luck, can't be killed, and will kill you if you give it away...

This story is quite bizarre, but also a nice bit of creativity in a series known for relying rather heavily on tropes and urban legends. It's silly, but the idea of some strange, living creature that refuses to DIE is really creepy, and it's easy to feel sorry for Kat who is trapped watching her loved ones get hurt by the beast. Also, the descriptions of how it breathes and gets excited when people are harmed was freaky even to me as an adult!
