Una novela fresca y divertida que no falla a la hora de hacerte pasar un fin de semana agradable.

Por mucho tiempo este libro estuvo bajo mi radar así que después de un par de lecturas pesadas decidí comenzarlo, con cierto rechazo porque la sinopsis no me prometía mucho y sabía que podía salir cualquier cosa de todo eso. Pero debo admitir que me dejó con la boca abierta.

Este libro nos cuenta la historia de Caitlin, una adolescente tranquila, estudiosa, religiosa y correcta y con un poco de trastorno de ansiedad. Un día recibe la visita de su tía y le pide un favor: que "cuide" de su prima por un fin de semana. Heller, su prima, protagonizará una película muy esperada a nivel mundial pues se trata de la adaptación cinematográfica de una de las trilogías más famosas de la actualidad, así que Caitlin deberá cuidar de ella durante el fin de semana de la premiere, donde hará muchas entrevistas, y su tarea será cuidar de que no haga nada que la haga quedar mal, ya que es una celebridad conocida por sus escándalos que siempre involucran alcohol, drogas, sextapes, etc. El problema es que Heller y Caitlin fueron mejores amigas durante su infancia, hasta que algo sucedió que hizo que se pelearan, y hasta ese día no volvieron a hablarse.

Amé este libro de principio a fin, tanto por la ternura y la empatía que generaba Caitlin como por la fluidez y el humor con el que este autor narra la historia.
Los sucesos bizarros e hilarantes que se llevan a cabo ese fin de semana hicieron que me riera a las carcajadas y que, a la vez, se me piantara una lágrima de vez en cuando por los momentos emotivos que había en el medio.
La relación entre estas dos primas está tan bien retratada, ambas tienen personalidades muy diferentes pero se complementan una a la otra, balancean sus emociones.
Esta historia también explora y muestra la vida detrás de estas celebridades que tanto vemos en los medios pero que sólo sabemos eso, lo que se muestra, no lo que sucede detrás, y me pareció muy interesante. También retrata y parodia a la perfección como funcionan y como se manejan los distintos fandoms: sus miembros, sus características, su filosofía, su impacto en la sociedad y en el producto.

Es muy dinámico, el ritmo no decae en ningún momento y se lee rapidísimo.
Es como una de esas películas que encontrás en Fox por la tarde que te alegran el domingo. Lo recomiendo mucho.

This is a cool and funny novel.
It's been a long time since this book was under my radar, so after a couple of heavy readings I decided to start with it, but I had my doubts... because the synopsis didn't sound interesting and I knew that anything could come out of it. But I must admit that it left me with my mouth open.

This is Caitlin's story, a quiet, studious, religious and correct teenager with a little anxiety disorder. One day she receives a visit from her aunt, and she asks Caitlin for a favor: to "take care" of her cousin for a weekend. Heller, her cousin, will be playing the main role in a highly anticipated movie worldwide as it is the film adaptation of one of the most famous trilogies, so Caitlin will have to take care of her during the weekend of the premiere, where she will make many interviews, and her task will be to take care that she doesn't do anything that makes her look bad, since she's a celebrity known for her scandals that always involve alcohol, drugs, sexpes, etc. The problem is that Heller and Caitlin were best friends during their childhood, until something happened... and until that day they didn't speak again.

I loved this book from beginning to end, both because of the tenderness and empathy Caitlin generated, and because of the fluency and humor with which this author tells the story.
The bizarre and hilarious events that take place that weekend made me laugh so much and at the same time, I found myself containing tears for the emotional moments in the middle.
The relationship between these two cousins ​​is so well portrayed, both have very different personalities but complement one another, balancing their emotions.

This story also explores and shows the life behind these celebrities that we see everyday in the media but we only know that, what is shown, not what happens behind, and I found it very interesting. It also portrays and perfectly spoofs how the different fandoms work: how are their members, their characteristics, their philosophy, their impact on society and on the product they're worshiping.

It's very dynamic, the pace doesn't decay at any time. It's like one of those movies that you find on Fox in the afternoon that makes you happy on a boring Sunday. I highly recommend it.
