So, I went into this book knowing that a lot of people hated it in school, and most of them never reread it and hate it still. My luck is that I've never read it in school. But I've read it now. And I liked it! Unexpectedly, even though I've been spoiled a few main plot points, it was still really, really good. Yes, it took me a while to finish, but classics are rarely fast-paces anyway, especially Oblomov, with its pacing matching the life of the main character. And characters, I finally actually cared for what was gonna happen to them, what they were gonna do, how they were gonna react. For the amount of classic books I read in my university years, ii happens that I like a book, but I rarely CARE. Another surprise from Goncharov. I got really tired of Turgenev with his repetetive ideas, even though I liked some of his novels, this was a nice change. I also fancied Goncharov's writing style, so when I have time in the future, I wanna read his other novels. They're definitely in my long-list now.
