Really enjoyed this book, told from the perspective of four very different women who meet at an all-girls college.

This novel certainly is not just an easy-going happy “chick lit” piece about four female friends as the blurb might suggest. It has more to offer and becomes quite political at some points, which I really liked about it. Nevertheless, I only gave three stars as the main characters often stayed plain, especially in the second half of the book. Here I felt like Sullivan wanted to suddenly make the novel very deep on a psychological level, but this didn’t work out in my opinion. 
Through the whole book there are also unreflected comments about the characters’ weight gains or losses and body shapes, which seemed unnecessary for the story. Additionally, the plot suddenly moved incredibly slow during the last 150 pages, became cheesy and a bit over the top.
