This was my first book in this series (I know, I know, out of order) and I really enjoyed it. Definitely planning on reading more. I loved the futuristic aspects of it, it was very campy (in a great way). I kind of went back and forth between liking Eve and thinking she was a total bitch, but I'm sure I just need to get to know her better. This story was fast paced and suspenseful. I agree with Stephen King...in my experience, Nora Roberts is incapable of writing a bad story.

I was prepared to dislike J.D. Robb. But what an interesting premise. Set in the future where technology is everywhere. So it has the potential of being too science fictiony. But it isn't. The futuristic setting is just part of the story - and doesn't become the story. Even the concept of the beautiful, tough cop married to a billionaire - but who still wants to protect and serve, is believable and entertaining. I'll read more.
