Soy historiadora y la verdad, este libro tiene 0 veracidad ((porque aunque es fantasía, debería mantenerla)). Le doy dos estrellas por saber algo más de quidditch pero bastante mal en realidad

This is another book that is mentioned in the world of Harry Potter. I would say textbook, but it isn't. Simply put, Harry and the gang would check it out from the library and I think at one point, Hermione gave this book to Harry as a Christmas or birthday present. When I first read this book, I wasn't a huge fan of it. I felt it kind of boring and not as fun as Fantastic Beasts . However, reading it again, I find that I really liked it the second time around. I think I just never appreciated the sport of Quidditch. In this book, you'll find information about how Quidditch came to be, the different type of brooms, teams and moves, along with the rules and other things like that. It could really pass as a handbook on all things Quidditch because even though it's brief, it's very detailed and descriptive. Overall, you can't go wrong having this book in your library.

Very educational for harry potter fan based theory. It is not story based, but the opportunity to learn more about Harry Potter is very useful to have.

The audiobook version is immensely enjoyable, although I'd prefer Fantastic Beast (as read by Newt himself) more. This is about 3/5 overall.

This was my second time reading this short Harry Potter history book and I have to say, I still enjoyed it. I still think 4 stars is fair. While educational on the spread of the sport of Quidditch in the wizarding world, I decided to make a timeline of every date in the book. While this was fun and somewhat tedious, I realized how much information wasn't there to inform you about Quidditch. Between the start of the World Cups and European cups, very few winners of those cups are actually mentioned. Some of the dates that are mentioned are also off from other information that had previously been written about, which was frustrating. The information presented was also strange to learn about after having learned other things. For example, I can't imagine how slow the World Cup games must have been on hand-made brooms until the 19th century. Knowing this earlier would have made seven and eight day Quidditch games - and even the six month game on Bodmin Moor where the Snitch was never caught - make a whole lot more sense. I feel like this book would have benefitted greatly by having it's information in chronological order. It also would have helped JK Rowling to keep her ducks a little more in a row. It also bugs me greatly that none of the world history leaked into this history of Quidditch, wizarding or otherwise. Apparently Muggle world wars and muggle growth did not in any way affect Quidditch, which seems off to me. Still, this book was a lot of fun to read and the funny tidbits that were always enjoyable in the Harry Potter books, like strange games and curious incidents that happened, were all over this book and made it a lot of fun for me. My favorite bit was the 6-month game on Bodmin Moor that lasted six months before both teams gave up because their Seekers couldn't catch the Snitch. The concept of a mechanical Snitch roaming free to this day made me laugh. This is definitely a fun read for any Harry Potter fan.

This is a lovely way to learn more about a sizable part of the wizarding world of Harry Potter in a beautifully illustrated way.

Me encanta como expande el mundo mágico. Lo disfrute, aunque no sea tan fan del deporte. Además el audiolibro tiene material extra interesante y divertido.

JK Rowling has created such an amazing expanded universe around Harry Potter and this is proof. Really detailed history of the game of Quidditch that flows so naturally you forget it's fiction.

Alike the other Hogwarts library books, this book was as great as the others! the illustrations were magnificent! and considering most of my favorite characters are part of the quidditch team, this book was really informative cause I have been trying to understand the game but still haven't until I read this. Very good book!
