This novella was definitely not long enough for my liking! But I guess that's why it's a novella and not a novel right?

From what I've gathered of the plot of this little series I do quite like it. The whole 'vampires slaughter millions' thing isn't new or anything, but I like the way that it's put together in this story. These 'Drinkers', as they call themselves, seem to be a bit more ruthless than the ones that you see in other stories and I do like that about them. 

As always I love Eaton's writing I just wish there was more in this one. I feel like I didn't really get to know the characters very well this time around. There was a lot about them but for some reason I just didn't feel connected to them as I have with characters from her other novella's.

All in all, I really liked the story and I'm going to sit here and wait very impatiently for the next one to come out!

Lola. Lola, Lola, Lola.

She's kind of insane really. Mostly insane in fact.

There's no typical book heroine here. She's a smart-mouthed, sarcastic, bad-ass. I'd call her fearless for the things she does, but it's not true. There's always fear in what she does, but she does it anyway. 

It's difficult for me the review this book as I have read a version of it before so I knew where the plot line was going from the beginning. At least, I can't say how it was on predictability. Everything else, I loved.

Jillian's story telling skills have always impressed me. This is not a happy-go-lucky, sparkly vampire rom-com. It's a dark, grotesque, yet somehow delightful tale of survival. There's a little sprinkling of gore that is balanced with some teenage infatuation. Honestly it's got a little of everything.

I loved the story. I loved Lola (because if you don't love Lola, you're wrong). Great, great book. Definitely worth the read.
