Don't let the childish font and the cartoonish cat paw graphics mislead you; this story is much darker and more desperate than you can imagine, even if you've seen Galaxy's show. 

Galaxy's book is less designed to offer cat owners tips on caring for their beloved pets and more the unexpectedly damaged and tortured story of a hopeless addict and the four-legged friend that helps him find redemption, control, and teaches him how to feel again. While the first fifth of the book isn't terribly remarkable as Galaxy chronicles the ever-lower depths to which he sank at his worst moments is quite literally astounding. Without giving too much away it is almost inconceivable to imagine that he actually went through it all and came out the other side a while and functional person. He has a remarkable story to tell that will tug the heart strings if anyone who has ever felt anything for a pet.

Cat Daddy by Jackson Galaxy

I am a big fan of Galaxy's show on Animal Planet called "My Cat from Hell"...probably because I have had a few cats from Hell myself. This book was an interesting autobiography; Galaxy was honest about his addictions....to drugs, to alcohol, to food. He acknowledges that his work and connection to animals, especially cats, most likely saved his life. His detailing of his cat Benny and their connection was heartwarming. Sprinkled throughout his life story are training snippets and suggestions. This book is a must read for cat lovers. I read this book on my Kindle.
