I thought this book was alright, it was another book I read when I was younger and decided to reread again. It’s way below my reading level now but I enjoyed Calpurnia’s character and attitude.

Во первых строках моей рецензии хочу сказать "спасибо, Янка!", мне ужасно понравилось. 
Это такая правильная со всех сторон (и особенно с гендерной) книжка, про детство и познание мира, про место в семье и мечты, особенно мне понравился дедушка. Книжка написана от лица девочки 11 лет, стиль такой прекрасный, я даже не знаю, с чем сравнить. Тут нету никакого стремительного экшена, нет ведьм, нет драконов, но после прочтения просто хорошо очень.

This book was fun, but it took a while for me to really get into it. It had just enough to keep me interested enough to keep going. However, halfway through I started enjoying it more. Even though it is set in the year 1899, I could relate to it quite a bit with my own memories of childhood.
