First off wow am I mad that life made me take longer to read this then I would have liked. Life aside, once I actually had time to sit and read this book I loved it!
I mean hello it's JAMES PATTERSON!
The switching between the first few years of detective work and jumping forward to end of his career was confusing at first. Then you notice that the cases are tied together but the question of 'how?' still remained. I think the phrases 'oh my god' 'this can't be the same case' and 'COD was natural? No way is it the same MO' were said very frequently, and just about all the time.
(COD= Cause Of Death, MO= Motive)
Walter O'Brian, Detroit PD, is called to a murder scene where he finds a 20-something girl supposedly kidnapped, with the supposed kidnapper bludgeoned on the ground. With the girls escape from police custody the case seems unsolvable, and impossible to forget.
By the time O'Brian is promoted to Detective his curiosity with the unsolved case borders obsession.
Wait..did he just see the girl in the restaurant?
