Amazingly emotionally rich. It broke my heart repeatedly, but I couldn't put it down. I even missed my train stop (twice) getting lost in the characters. While many points of view vie for the reader's attention, each character seemed to tell his/her story at the perfect moment while Edie's larger-than-life persona coalesces them all. While awfully heart wrenching, it's definitely the best book on Jewish identity I've read published in the 21st century. Can't wait to read what's to come from Jami Attenberg.
