I would like to start by saying this collection of poetry pleasantly surprised me. Most collections of poetry I pick up these days are nothing more than a couple lines of vague advice about living your best life and moving on from the boy.  Everyone's Happier Than You  actually felt like a collection of poetry. 
With subjects ranging from passing mothers to bacon, and a feeling of Midwest in most of the poems (something I particularly enjoyed being from the midwest originally myself), this collection does some things really well. However, the reason it only got 3 stars is because none of the poems stuck to me. Even now, as I write this review 24 hours after finishing the book, there isn't a poem that particularly sticks out to me as something I need to read again, redigest, think about for a while. That being said, any future book by Jamie Zerndt I'd pick up to read because I feel they are on a great path and as their skill evolves, their poetry will become remarkable.
