Force of Nature A Novel
Reviews

This one was not great, dragged a bit but it's mostly because I didn't like the premise and was not very interested in the plot. I also wish it had been more centered around Falk, I feel like it could have been anyone. I'll conitnue with the series, however I hope that the next one will have a more gripping plot.

Loved 'The Dry' so much that I grabbed 'Force of Nature' straight after finishing. Once again, deft storytelling and a vivid atmosphere kept me turning the pages, even if some of these characters felt a bit stiff. Really liked the way Falk's relationship with his Dad was explored, it lifted the story beyond your standard crime thriller. I'll be reading the next one.

Not quite as enthralling as The Dry, but still an excellent mystery.

This was a book read for a book club which I thoroughly enjoyed. It was enthralling and suspenseful and a mystery that I did not see coming! A must read! Enjoyed it so much I got the first book to understand a little more about the lead character.

I'm pretty sure the Aaron Falk series will be in my Favorite Mystery/Thriller List for a while! I can't wait to review this one.

3.75 Stars As usual, I won't go too far into this one because it's a sequel. I like Aaron Falk. He's an interesting character and I enjoy getting to see him progress through life. The mystery here was a good one. I had no idea what had happened to the missing woman or how, and I enjoyed getting to see it play out on the page. I also liked how it was a semi-dual timeline by having the present day and showing the weekend prior when everything actually happened. It was a great way to tell the story. Much like the first book, Jane is able to tell a story just by the environment the story takes place. She's able to describe the setting so incredibly well. There were some parts that were a little sluggish but overall I really enjoyed it. I like Jane's writing style and I plan to read more from her in the future. Characters 4; Cover 4; Plot 3; Pace 3; Writing 4; Enjoyment 4.

It was ok, but for some reason I couldn't get invested in the story. I didn't really care about the characters either.

The pacing of this was really well done. It hooked you, then slowly unraveled, getting faster and faster until you were desperate to know. This felt really realistic which is a plus for some people but I found in some ways it sacrificed enjoyment because of it. The characters were a little on the boring side, even the ones involved in the mystery. I wasn't super invested. I didn't find myself guessing the outcome and caring heavily what happened. This was definitely because for me the characters were the weakest point. The location and plot was strong. I wish that the characters were a bit stronger but I know that some people will really love this. It's all about your preference for thrillers and what sort of characters you like. These felt like real people - rich people, but still pretty real. Just... Well, real people are a bit boring, aren't they?

I Enjoyed reading about Aaron again but I did prefer the Dry. I don’t know if it was the characters or the setting but there was just something more enjoyable and thrilling about it

Entertaining and interesting detective novel.
