This book really felt -to me- like cheap feminism with a touch of terfism. Like every book I read i picked it up because the cover was appealing to me, I was oh so disappointed to discover that this science-fiction book was about an epidemic touching solely men, you can be sure it obviously infected trans women which is why i said it has a touch of terfism, because there was this trans woman, close friend of the main character and guess what ? it isnimplied that she got infected, let me tell you I hated that but i kept on reading (what can I say, I like torturing myself). 
The plot is loosely about a virus that affects only men, women are spared, it’s set 50 or so years after the great epidemic, the men are placed in quarantine, we follow the main character who is a caretaker in one of those center. There are groups that believe that men can be saved and other who are fearful of it, they don’t want to go back to patriarchy. 
I finished this book and, poor feminism aside, it was just so dull and boring it was a struggle to keep reading, the prose was dull and without savor. The main character is -to me- the strongest point of this book, she is well developed and is interesting in her own ways, we see her mental conflict between ethics -meaning finding a cure for the men- and fear of going back to patriarchy. My liking of her helped me get through this books, shes compassionate and kind but has this wish to believe that a better life is possible, we see her changing through the book and I thought it extremely interesting.
I am not telling you not to read this book, you do you, bit if you cant find sleep at night i advise you this one so you get bored and able to sleep.
