First Blade

First Blade

Jane Hinchey2015
Georgia Pearce possesses remarkable psychic abilities. When she discovers an ancient dagger hidden in her workshop, she knows it can only mean one thing. Trouble. Trouble arrives in the form of Zak Goodwin, an entity more powerful – and definitely sexier – than any she’s come across before. However, when a horde of dangerous vampires show up and threaten Georgia and her sister, she has no choice but to ask Zak for help. Along with a shifter cop, a band of vampire warriors, and her own psychic skills, Georgia sets out to stop the awakening of an immortal vampire who has the power to destroy the world -- and discovers that staying alive isn’t nearly as dangerous as falling in love. If you like fast-paced paranormal romantic suspense, thrilling heroes, and sassy, kick-ass heroines then you’ll love the first installment of the Awakening series by Jane Hinchey.

** spoiler alert ** This review is filled with random thoughts that only make sense of you read the book. Too much too soon.. super poor decisions made by the heroine. Also, you say you prepare someone before before they get turned... Yet you really don't. No prep at all. He had tons of time to walk her through the turning process but literally didn't. Just bit her and was like, oh by the way, this will happen. Stupid decisions all around. If you escape from being kidnapped I don't think most normal people would want the first thing they do is to shower. Call me crazy, but I might want to maybe keep running or even contact a loved one and let them know I was ok. I like how she assumed the people threatening her life would stop since it happened days ago. How is that logical? Why not just swallow your pride and take the offer of help. No one but you cares that you look helpless. No means no! Demons stopped showing up and then it was all vamps? Why stop having demons? Why was she so dramatic in running as far as she could go... With no planning... If she was just going to turn around anyway. She literally acted like she was ditching everyone, including her sister. She even took out as much money as she could from the ATM and got drunk at random bars. How could she 100 percent forget her best friend?
