Another solid Stephanie Plum novel with her family and side-kicks and love interests. Realized I missed #26 but this story stood on its own. A new character is introduced in this book that the author is writing about this year. I think my favorite character is still after all these books Grandma Mazur. She makes me laugh out loud every time.

Stephanie and Grandma Mazur are still looking for Jimmy Rosolli's treasure. They have the two keys and a couple of the clues, but they will need more if they are going to find the treasure. Stephanie is still suffering from her life crisis, and to top it off, accidentally gets a makeover. Also, while Stephanie and Morelli are on the outs, her relationship with Ranger heats up, but Stephanie is feeling some jealousy when Morelli shows some interest in a woman named Gabriela that also seems to be after the Rosolli treasure and has much better skills than Stephanie.

Fortune and Glory - Tantalizing Twenty-Seven veers a little off of the Stephanie Plum novel formula, making the skips that Stephanie is looking for less a part of the mystery than the Rosolli treasure that she has been looking for in the last two books. Also, the humor that is usually such a big part of these books and makes them so enjoyable is there but is somewhat muted in this story. Even though Stephanie's on and off relationship with Ranger heats up in this story, we really don't get any more about him or his life. Overall, Fortune and Glory - Tantalizing Twenty-Seven is slightly disappointing but is still a quick read that provides enjoyment. 3 1/2 Stars.

3.5 stars. Honestly, I’m read for Stephanie to pick between Ranger and Morelli and have the series by done. It’s pretty repetitive at this point.
