Rejected Shadow Beast Shifters 1
Reviews

Well I had no clue what I was getting into with this book. The plot felt very drawn out and I wasn't sure where it was going most of the time. Also, there were nearly 60 chapters in a 400 page book which felt weird, and made it feel like it was even longer. At times I wasn't sure if this was a college bully romance, or a rejected mate romance where the mate has to grovel, or a second chance romance with the childhood best friend turned bully, or a reverse harem, or what. Half the time I didn't think she should end up with anyone of the male persuasion. However, I was rooting for her and the shadow beast obviously. There was very little steam in this book in my opinion, and it just wasn't what I was expecting. I liked the plot enough but again it felt way too drawn out. The cliffhanger was intriguing, but felt like a cop-out to actually wrapping up the book. I plan to read the next book, but I hope it doesn't drag like this one did.
Overall, it was a decent book. If you want to waste time reading through a long and meandering book for sh*ts and giggles go ahead. It wasn't awful, and it was intriguing.

I went into this book thinking it was going to be one thing and it was absolutely not. But I absolutely LOVED it! Jaymin has created a riveting new world full of intrigue, humor and suspense. It has been quite a long time since Iβve read a YA fantasy and this book reminds me of everything I love about the genre. Although not nearly as steamy as the books I usually read, the amount of pure world building in this book definitely made up for it and more. I feel completely connected to these characters leaving me 100% invested in their story. Mera is a total force to be reckoned with. From the first page I knew she was a heroine that I would adore. Blamed for something entirely not her fault, she went through life as her packs punching bag, emotionally and physically. Instead of letting it make her cower she takes their hate and infuses it into the backbone of her personality. Making her strong and capable of anything, with little fear. Shadow is just the type of mysterious anti hero that makes your heart thump and your fists curl. Infuriatingly sexy and cocky, you canβt help but want to fight him as much as Mera does. Yet you find yourself yearning to break through his ego and armor too. His allure is simply unstoppable with his possessive nature and quick wit. You crave more of him from chapter to chapter and itβs like he knows it. I definitely recommend Rejected to anyone who enjoys in depth stories with a ton of unexpected fantasy delights.

I thought this book was phenomenal! This new world Jaymin weaved was something entirely different from her other books, and I thought Rejected was a nice change of pace. Shadow is high up on my favorite list of yummy men Jaymin has written that have ruined my expectations of men. He was growly and utterly sexy. I absolutely loved Mera. I thought she was strong and sarcastic in a way her peers tried to beat out of her for a very long time. The only comment I would make about the book was I was unaware it was a slow-burn romance, so I had to shift my perceptions concerning the pace of the book as I was reading it. Other than that, I loved the book! Without spoiling anything, I really hope she kicks Torin's ass in book two. Hopefully, it will be released sooner than February of next year! I'm sitting on the edge of my seat awaiting the next book!

Captivated From the beginning. Legit couldn't put this book down. It's Fire in everyday possible. I cannot wait to finish this series. This is a must read just dive right in.

4/5

A friend recommended this book to me but at first I had a really hard time with the "sassyness", language and never ending senseless comebacks of the main character. Someone who always says what she's thinking and then some more. As the story evolved I was intrigued and found myself looking forward for new developments although it still made me cringe at times. Special whenever sex was the subject.

Normally I HATE, absolutely HATE it when MCs habe utterly annoying traits. And not being able to shut up and asking lots of question is the worst kind for me. I've dnfed books because of this. But here? Its fitting, its talked about why the MC is like it and its not 100% accepted as a "awww cute character trait". The dialogs are just plain amazing.

First of all, can I smack Shadow on his head and maybe a few kicks here and there too because ugh men! This handsome hulk gives us those smirks which melt us so imagine what Mera has to resist. Why cannot he feel the chemistry, whyyyy!? And on top of it all, what he does at the end definitely will not bring Mera to his side, nope. Secondly, Mera is just wow. She's badass, sarcastic, fuckin' strong and I don't mean it only physically but mentally too. I would keep writing her character sketch if I could and I've never ever loved a female lead this much. The storyline is intriguing and will keep your mind focused. I still don't know why Jaxon is important and @JayminEve is definitely playing and testing theories with us because yes I thought it'll be the same enemies to lovers thing, but nooooo. You'll find out when your read this. I have some conspiracy theories for book 2 and I'm hoping, very much that one of them is true because ugghh it'll be amazing and that pair would be fire, literally too. Ends on a cliffhanger leaving us with anticipated, excitement and hope for a fight. This is the first book in the series which will make you feel for Mera and her life. To be honest if there's no love interest here I would still read it. Book 2: Reclaimed is releasing on 1st February 2021 which is too far away! ΰΌΰΊΆβΏΰΌΰΊΆ β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’β’ I've recieved an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
