Our world … it’s filled with secrets…And we all have to play the game.” I do not know what I expected going into Broken Wings (Dark Legacy #1) by Jaymin Eve and Tate James but it sure was not a wild and crazy read. After I hit a certain scene I was not prepared for a wild ride. Riley was adopted young and just lost her parents. Now her evil birth mother wants her back for her reasons. I loved Riley she was bada$$ but not over the top. She is brought into this new world by her birth mother she knows nothing about. Loved that even though she can handle her own she still has her weak moments that I would of expected on some of the situations she was in. Sebastian is the leader of his school and his close friends Dylan, Evan and Jasper. He is an a$$ but at the same time have his gentle moments. He is hot and cold so never leaves a dull moment with him and Riley. Loved Dylan, Evan and Jasper they add so much to the story without taking away from Sebastian and Riley. Good unpredictable, dark new adult romance. Good amount of angst and drama. A secret society that I want to know more about. Many secrets, lies and betrayal that I am not sure how everything is going to play out in book 2. Got my attention and I need some answers.
Despite how cliché, inconsistent, misogynistic, and fucked up this all was, I am really, really into it.
