Read through netgalley.com I really, really enjoyed The Line, love the story and the plot and the characters. It was very intriguing from the beginning, in my opinion, and I really found the backdrop for The Line and its characters really interesting, along the way with the plot twisters came unraveling as you read. I throughly enjoyed this paranormal intriguing Witching Savannah novel!

Now I was always destined to enjoy this book as witches and magic is my drug. I enjoy magic and such almost as much as I enjoy romance novels. So me and this book were made for each other. This ook had everything, conflict twists and a nice take on magic. I do wish there was more about the actual magic, a greater explanation for it all, but i did enjoy it all the same. After all I think there wasn't any greater explanation as Mercy had no understanding of magic, so I'm hoping there will be greater exploration of that side of things in another book.

I had the pleasure of reading this book prior to its release courtesy of Kindle Firstreads. As I stated in an earlier post, I have not explored the "witchy" genre too much unless you count the Harry Potter series. I was glad I decided to make the leap! I've been careful to avoid spoilers in my review... I was very happy to find that this book did not violate any of my major rules and did not ending being a first chapter fail. It was well edited and I thought that it was a great debut novel. It is a thrilling and at times frightening story that never leaves you standing on solid ground. I was constantly trying to figure out what is up and down, good and bad and all the shades of grey in between. I really cannot say too much about the plot without giving away major spoilers but you know I love an epic plot twist. It reads like a supernatural/thriller whodunit. I loved the descriptions of Savannah and it's earthly and unearthly inhabitants. I have only been to Savannah once for an extremely brief visit, but this book reminded me of the romanticism and old world grandeur that I loved about it. I initially was annoyed by the love triangle that came with the story but I ultimately ended up REALLY enjoying how it all played out. If you are inherently against love triangles I would encourage you to give this one a chance. You might be surprised. I think that fans of adult fiction and YA fiction alike will enjoy this book since the main character is about 21. I like how it spans between these two genres and I'd like to see more books like this. I thought the pacing at the end was a little odd, but I can't really elaborate without major spoilers so you will see what I mean. Overall, this book would not end up being one of my all time favorite reads but I did really enjoy it. If you had to ask me what it was that it was missing I couldn't tell you exactly what it was. All I know is that it was missing a magical little something that would have captured my heart. I will say that I easily read the book in a couple of days and the story pulls you right in.
