3.5 β - (liked it) Going to be super frank and say that this book stressed me out both times that I've read it XD I think it's because I am an eldest child like Rosalind and related to her way too much so her stressing was making me stress. This book also has the most CWs - things that I noticed and didn't quite like as a Christian teen, some of it went over my head as a kid. But I love Iantha and Ben, as much as I did the first time I read this! So even though this is my least favorite book I still liked some of it and love the Aaronsons XD CWs: mentions of a side character into crystals and believes in reincarnation, aztec sacrifices and rituals, spying, lying and it's consequences, stage fright, passing out (also some controversial things: one of the MCs planning to "date" at 13 (not seriously ofc), and what I think was a hint at evolution) a brief mention of halloween (one chapter) but nothing dark, just trick-or-treating and dressing up. 2/18/24

The Penderwicks on Gardam Street by Jeanne Birdsall takes place a few months after the conclusion of the first books. Mr. Penderwick and his daughters are back at home on Gardam Street. Their life is set upside down when their aunt comes insisting it's time for her brother to start dating again. http://pussreboots.com/blog/2019/comm...

// Re-Read March 2018 // What words can describe my adoration for this series and its characters? Reading a Penderwicks book is like a receiving a warm hug on a chilly day or like remembering a fond memory from your childhood. It's blissful nostalgia & the joy of childhood. I will never, ever stop coming back to the Penderwicks whenever I'm in need of a comfortable, cozy, & delightful read. <3 (And just so you know, my future kids will be read this series MANY times. *grins*) / / / Can I just hug this book forever? Because I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. <3 I didn't think I would like it as much as the first one, but gosh, it was so. good. There were a couple minor things I didn't like, but other than that, this book was a gem! Now I just need to get my hands on the third one...
