Unrequited

I loved the diversity of the Asian protagonist and, honestly, Winter was just a fantastic character. And Finn? Holy hell. So hot. I loved how these two came together, after years of each having a crush on the other. It was fun to read about, even if it was a little awkward at times thanks to Winter's sister, who dated Finn in high school. I loved how determined Finn was to get Winter. And, you know, how much sexual chemistry these two had. Wowza. Hot times ahead. What I didn't love about this book was Winter's manipulative disaster of a sister. Ivy infuriated me for pretty much this entire book. I hated how she played with Winter's feelings when it was obvious Winter was so devoted to her and would do anything for her. I was SO not a fan. At times, it was hard to keep reading because I so badly wanted to see Winter stand up for herself and worry about herself instead of her sister. But, I was so invested in Winter and Finn that I couldn't NOT keep reading – and I'm glad I kept going. The ending was worth any frustration. I really enjoyed Unrequited – except for Ivy's antics and one questionable sexy time word choice. (FWIW: If you use "golden juices" to describe something... my brain automatically goes to a place you didn't intend and I struggle not to throw up.) But the romance was fantastic and it was just angsty enough to be believable without being overwhelming. I can't wait to see what happens next in this series! And, on a side note, I LOVED catching up with the couples from earlier in this series during this book. Love them! I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
