This book was absolute filth, beauty and the beast retelling (but the beast doesn't change back into a human). It was entertaining for sure, but not my fav.
I was hoping this would have more build up? Everything seemed very rushed and read like a fanfiction almost. Not my favorite retelling ever
I wish that I could say that I loved this, but unfortunately, this was a bit of a disappointing read for me. I came into the story with higher expectations and I do wish that I had read reviews first before reading in so I knew what I was getting with this one. Basically it's beauty and the beast retelling smut. Its also a shorter book as a novella. It's technically a romance, but I just didn't feel the intimacy, lots of hot smexy times though but I was hoping for more relationship stuff in this book. I think it could have happened if the story had been a novel but I do think the author wrote what she intended to write. This will work for many readers, it's just not really my cup of tea. I need the romance, the intimacy, and the relationship-building aspects. I thought it was a solidly written story just didn't deliver what I was expecting from the way readers on Bookstagram were raving about this book. But the retelling aspects were beautifully done and I think this story had some amazing potential. But if you are aware of what you are going into, and smut is what you are wanting, then this book will work for you. And I will be looking at this author's more full length work and see if I can get hooked more into her books, as I did enjoy the writing style that she implements in her storytelling.
Beauty & the beast is one of my top disney film and i’m known for being very protective of it but all things holy i loved this book!! But i love how this novel demonstrated how Belle loved the beast before he was human 💛
It felt like it was written just for me 😂 didn’t miss a single one of my kinks … and you know what i was always a lil disappointed when beast turned into a human again cause he was so much cuter as a beast …
** spoiler alert ** Short and Steamy read that got me out of my reading slump. The Beast is a sexy Beauty and the Beast retelling. The primal aspect is superb. 👌 Be mindful where you read this book, as it’s likely to cause a flood in your area. (If you catch my drift. 😏) I am beyond excited to read whatever other Monsters and Beauties books that Jenika comes up with. *sort of spoiler incoming* __________________________ There’s pregnancy, but, it’s in the epilogue, where it belongs. I know there are some like me, that don’t 100% enjoy the “pregnancy trope” being brought in midway through the smut-venture. With the breeding that Beast mentions multiple times, it’s bound to happen. I was thankful that it was in the epilogue as part of the HEA, and not something that became a total side/plot point.
"The fairy tales were wrong… Beauty could want the Beast." CHECK TW Wow, this book was a roller coaster of spicyness. Being a novella it leaves you wanting more. This is a Beauty and The Beast retelling but with a twist: the beast never becomes a prince and he stays a beast. Isn’t that what we all really wanted? Maurice, Belle’s dad, is knee deep in debt and when Beast offers to pay off all his debt in exchange for Belle’s hand in marriage, he doesn’t hesitate to say yes and save himself. He’s been watching and yearning for Belle for a long time now and he can’t wait to make her his. At first, Belle is scared and angry but soon her anger turns into curiosity for the beast which that later turns into lust. "I wanted depravity. I wanted to see what it would be like –feel like– to just lie in the center of the Beast’s bed naked and spread out and let him have his filthy way with me." The way Beast is so dominating with just the right amount of roughness and she doesn’t deny her attraction for him is what I love! Also knotting? New k*nk unlocked? Jenika really went and left us wanting more. With this being the first book on her first monster series I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us.
