Minus one full star for the name ALBERT. Like seriously? You can choose any fake name you want and you choose Albert? Short and somewhat sweet, this book was a good afternoon read but ultimately unfulfilling. The two main characters, Molly and Jamie had barely any chemistry and Jamie was honestly just…boring… not charming at all. I know it’s a novella so it’s meant to be short, but it was missing key character development, i.e. I couldn’t get into their initial relationship because everything felt forced and sped up. The author’s other book (The Attraction Distraction) was perfectly capable in drawing me in despite a short page count. I would definitely recommend that one over this one. I fan cast Anna Sophia Robb (a la Carrie Diaries curly blonde hair) as Molly and honestly didn’t care enough to cast Jamie but I guess it would be easy to say a brown haired Austin Butler?

Do you like cheesy Netflix movies like a Christmas prince or princess switch? Do you like predictable short stories and love at first sight tropes. Then this book is for you! This literally felt like I was watching those Christmas movies (that I love) but written out in a book. I will say that the plot was lacking and very predictable and there wasn't a lot of dialogue or anything that made me believe that these two had a real reason to be In love. I may just be a cheesy movie watcher and not so much a cheesy book reader. I loved that there was royalty involved because that usually gets me immediately but I just wish that it had been written much better. It is a very short novella so if you are in a feel good kinda mood then pick this one up.
