Marie and Worrywart

Maggie Gordon

What does having anxiety feel like? THIS. ALL OF THIS. Woodall has crafted an excellent mini comic about what it is like to live with so many destructive thoughts. The art is simple clean, and the book is beautifully put together.

This was so relatable it made me tear up a little. This little red blob that seems small at first and then becomes all consuming is the perfect imagery for anxiety. The situations Marie finds herself in are painfully recognizable. I liked that this comic was just about anxiety - not trying to fight it or fix it or just "be strong." I think that's super real. Her resources were also great and many of them are things cognitive behavioral therapists (hey, recommendation number one!) have suggested to me.

A Quiet Little Library

This is super relatable, and I love the art style.
