I can't say this was a book that really captivated me but it was well written. I liked the characters but I felt like I couldn't trust anyone, the plot and world building were really good and I found myself getting invested in this book as it went along. I'm not sure if I loved it or if I will read the second book but I did enjoy it enough to finish it

** spoiler alert ** This is my first book read from this author but I honestly couldn’t put it down! *slight spoilers* Although my emotions felt like they took a beating (midnight 💔) and at times I felt like I was holding my breath in anticipation while my eyes couldn’t read quick enough to find out what was going to happen next I loved this book! From the characters to the world building, plot and sexual tension (although I would’ve been happy for a little more spice 🔥 but that’s just my personal preference) and cannot wait until book 2 is released!! I’m secretly holding out for Kalen and Tessa to be end game ♥️🤞🏼

The beginning of the book instantly captured my attention from the first line. I like how the book started in the middle of action that showed the main character and the world she lives in, not just a slow world building start. It jumped right into the action. I love fantasy books about Fae and this is no different. I loved it! It was fast paced and full of action. I love Tessa because from the start she is confident and sure of herself. A lot of books like this start with the character being docile and shy, and some incident sparking them to become more strong and powerful. But Tessa starts that way from the very beginning. I am so upset because of the ending with the mist king. I need answers!!! There were so many twists right at the ending. I am dying to read the second book!
