A much hyped book that I think is a good addition to the collection. Tells the story of Louis Braille in a first person perspective. Illustrations are well done and very "active".
A couple of "technical" comments:
* The braille alphabet adorns the inner covers front and back. For private consumers this is OK, but for library consumers it means it is covered by the stuck down dust-sheet.
* Pronunciation guide is appreciate
* Would have benefited from a few more end facts besides the Q&A, including biographical / nonfiction elements such as a time line and map

I wasn't aware of how Braille came to be and this story was absolutely fascinating. I loved it most because it tells kids/adults/anyone that if they see a way things can be done better, make that better way happen! Louis Braille knew it could be easier for the blind to read and with the help of his school, invented the Braille system that we're familiar with today. I thought this was so inspiring.
