I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in Jennifer's Ice series, Crossing the Ice, when I read it a couple months ago. I really liked Courtney and Josh's characters and the direction their story had taken, so I was really excited to learn there would be a sequel. The tone of the sequel is a little bit different, but I still enjoyed it. The ending was, of course, the best part though.

This book starts with Courtney and Josh as a happy couple – on and off the ice. They're preparing for their first competition as a couple. They were excited and I was thrilled for them. Unfortunately there was an accident that changed their course a bit. Losing the Ice might not have quite as many of the swoony moments Crossing the Ice did, but there were some great ones still. 

I appreciated the strength both characters showed in this book. It seemed like things were coming at them from all angles, trying to tear them apart, but they were stronger than that. What they had was too important to be torn apart. They're still young and make mistakes, but it was how they pulled it together and moved forward that made this book for me.

Losing the Ice was a super quick read that packed a bit of an emotional punch. It was a bit on the angsty side, but not overly so. There were some great little swoony moments as things calmed down for this couple and I just couldn't stop cheering them on. You know who else I cheered on during this book? Josh's sister Stephanie. I know. I'm as shocked as you are. I'm pleased to see how her character has grown. Before this book I wouldn't have considered reading a book about her. Now I'm really hoping one is in the works.
