This is the final book in the series. you should def. read the other two books in this series, and while you probably don't have to I would also recommend reading the series before this one The original Mythos Academy. With Gwen and Logan.. I would make everything make a lot more sense.
Its pretty much action packed from beginning to end.. Finally we get to see Rory and her friends take down the head of the Reapers.. Thank God! Ive been wanting that guy to get whats coming to him since the first time we saw him :) 

Rory and Ian are finally a couple, and we start out with them breaking into a museum to swap out an artifact, then lie in wait for the bad guys to come.
Turns out this is just a practice session, for a mission later on.. 
Then out of know where the reapers attack using a red gas cloud, and enough of it turns a person almost into a zombie, doing whatever the controller wants.. All of Midgard and the students at the school end up infected. The only one that escapes is Rory thanks to some healing magic she was given.. So now she has to figure out how to out smart the reapers, and how to save her friends from the gas as well.. Thankfully Rory has a part of a "just in case" plan in motion for a while, and it turns out it was a great idea!
This whole book is action, Gryphons, magical artifacts, and giving the bad guys exactly what they deserve.. It was great, and I can't wait to see what else Jennifer Estep writes. I also love her Elemental Assassins series, Mythos academy, and Crown of Shards.. 

 We also get a little bit of Gwen, and Logan freaking Hunter.. lol.. I love it when we get to see characters we already know and love in other books..
