2 STARS “Every day I’m around you, I become more and more goddamn defenseless. I can’t think straight. Rational thought goes out the window. I’m no fucking good for you, but somehow, you’re the best thing about me.” Let’s start from whole beginning where I found this GORGEOUS covers from this duet and knew I had to read it. Literally the most beautiful covers I've seen in a really long time. The story would be okay.. if not that the heroine was quirky (and I’m not talking about cute quirky, but this annoying "why are you like this, please stop" quirky). Like seriously, in some of her moments I wanted to kinda punch her in the face and dnf the book because of her. Cal had some cute moments (which made me swoon), but oh boy, I really hope he will change this "I don’t want a relationship" attitude. Sadly he was a grumpy, tall, tattooed, "i don’t like anyone but you" mechanic who had a crush on your since childhood, was REALLY possessive of you and was calling you "sunshine" so you know I ended liking him a little bit. It’s hard to talk about the plot without giving a lot of spoilers, but I’m really curious how the second book will be when this one ended this way. This was my first Jennifer Hartmann book, and to be honest, if I like the second book more, I'll probably try to read more of her books. I heard only positive opinions about the author, but idk the writing style did not do it for me. Also, the story didn't grab me at all, I probably only finished it because I was curious how it would end.
