🔥 Recensione – A Fire in the Flesh di Jennifer L. Armentrout 🔥 Non so davvero come faccia Jennifer L. Armentrout a tenermi così incatenata alle sue storie. Ogni volta penso di essere pronta… e invece mi ritrovo con il cuore in pezzi e la mente che corre dietro a mille teorie. A Fire in the Flesh è stato un vortice di emozioni. Questa saga prequel di Sangue e Cenere sta diventando per me un vero dilemma: non riesco a decidere quale delle due ami di più, perché entrambe mi regalano emozioni fortissime. Se con Poppy e Casteel ho conosciuto l’amore che sfida tutto, qui la fiamma è più oscura, più viscerale, e mi brucia dentro anche quando chiudo il libro. In questo volume i colpi di scena non mancano: ogni pagina è un crescendo che ti fa trattenere il fiato. I personaggi crescono, si spezzano e si ricompongono in modi che non ti aspetti. E la scrittura della Armentrout rimane quel mix irresistibile di tensione, romanticismo e passione che ti divora l’anima. È stata una lettura che mi ha lasciata sospesa tra dolore, sorpresa e meraviglia. E se devo essere sincera… non vedo l’ora di tuffarmi di nuovo in questo mondo, anche se so che mi spezzerà ancora. ✨ Voto: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 assolutamente!

This was a difficult read for me due to the sensitive nature of some of the content, but Jennifer L. Armentrout handles it all beautifully. Sera’s story feels so raw and real which can sometimes be difficult to achieve in fantasy setting. I love how strong of a character she is and how she is still able to find moments of humour and levity while experiencing so much pain.

This book really fleshed out some of the details in the world building, which I appreciated. I missed getting to see some of the side characters on page (Nektas ily) but having more information about Kolis and his motivations really added to the story. Overall I’m happy with this book, and I’m looking forward to seeing where this story goes!

This was a difficult read for me due to the sensitive nature of some of the content, but Jennifer L. Armentrout handles it all beautifully. Sera’s story feels so raw and real which can sometimes be difficult to achieve in fantasy setting. These books are good, but ultimately way too long. I really like them, but they feel like they go on forever.

My least favorite book so far in the series. Felt like a filler despite it having some high stakes. It made me think of the under the mountain part of ACOTAR but not done as well. Also wish the ending wasn’t just them fucking. It could be more impactful but leans just squishy mushy basic.

Ok... this book could've been perfect if not for those infernal monologues... There was so much internal dialogue that I could have lived without... While ALITF was perfect for me and is, in my opinion, one of her best works, AFITF doesn't even make it into my Top 10 or Top 15. The first 4-5 chapters are really good, and then somewhere after 35, but that's it... Yes, there is important information in the middle chapters, but until I found those details, I got really tired of the book because of the repetitive monologues. Besides, nothing really happens!!! 

I understand that the protagonist didn't have much of a life and only recently found her true family. However, where is the character development? Just because she becomes the true Primal of Life in all her rights doesn't mean there's character development. Besides, we already knew that from the primary series. She's back to being arrogant; she doesn't listen and doesn't pay attention. For the first time, I found myself in agreement with Kolis. She judges actions based on what she sees fit and what she thinks is right. She doesn't ask, and come on, it was obviously a trap when he told her to go finish that person off. Again, she doesn't really listen.

Apart from those infernal monologues, the dialogue between characters was very disappointing. It felt like I was in a kindergarten. The "I'm not arguing" lines are already old and don't have the same impact as before.

I couldn't even enjoy it like the rest of the series. So yeah... I was in a big reading slump and I couldn't wait to return to a world I love so much. Unfortunately, it put me in an even bigger reading slump. I can't say I hate the book because I don't; it was just meh. With 632 pages, it could have been half of that and really good. Now, I don't know if I'm excited or scared when it comes to the next book/books.

This was actually better than I thought it was gonna be. Still plenty of questionable decision making in the writing and editing but I cringed much less than I did in the last book of the other series. Also there are more? I thought this was the last one. When will I be free of this torment? I will see this through but I will be frustrated the entire time.

This isn't the best one in this series but I've read worse by Jennifer Armentrout. This book read very middle of the road for me. Overall, I'd say it felt very bland and repetitive with moments of quick paced, plot moving action. I also feel like the characters were all very flat when they've usually been more dynamic in this series. Though I am realizing the characters aren't all that individual and all feel the same anyway; this includes her other series FBAA as well.

Again, there wasn't much that actually moved the plot and overarching story forward. Again, there were pieces but you could skim it and be just fine. I was able to predict a lot of the "shocking" plot moments.
