This was a solid conclusion to the Flesh and Fire series, and I feel like it really teed up the next instalment of the Blood and Ash series. It’s tricky to write a review of this one without spoilers but I absolutely loved the plot of the book and I felt like it was satisfying without being predictable. As always, Sera was an entertaining yet emotionally raw narrator and I thoroughly enjoyed her voice.

Overall, I like reading this but a few things kept it from being a five star read for me. At times the pacing felt a bit off, and some of the characters that were introduced felt a little unnecessary. Alternatively, it might have been nice to hear about them in earlier books so they felt a bit less like a plot device. Regardless, I am super excited to see what comes next in this universe!
