Omg. ....I think I'm going to need a minute.

yes, this series is absolutely sooooo very “episode”, so very cliche, but sooooo very addicting. TWO YEARS LATER and I still cannot stop thinking about this book. it is about a non-human (technically, made of light) species. One of them, the main character, falls in love with a human, the main female character. it is about their relationship, their world vs earth, and… I won’t ruin the rest. But my obsession with these characters is otherworldly. The covers are awful hence why I listened to the audio books but the books are chef kiss to say the least.

3.75/5⭐️. Ok, I enjoy Daemon, a lot and I like the story, but the will they-won’t they sexual angst really just brought the plot down. I felt that like half the story revolved around if they were going to have sex and then Katy just kept drowning on and on about it. It felt repetitive. I did love the afterprom suprise. I guessed the ending and yes, big cliffhanger, but I can’t wait to get Into Daemon’s POV in book 4.

The beginning was a little slow, took me a while to get into but Daemon and Katy got me through it. Kinda saw the ending coming but it was still sad

I'M GONNA CRY OMG!! If I could, I would give this book 6 out of five stars. But the ending? I mean.. Are you kidding me? asdfghjkl (<-these books always make me write this.) anyways: -I have a very personal, and touching message for Blake: kill yourself, or I'll do it. -I also want Daemon. I am so broken by this book, I need Daemon. Only you can help me (or I'll Just start the fourth book, and I won't sleep.) When all comes to all, I have to say, I was #great #funny #exciting #heart-warming #heart-breaking In short: PERFECT.

Jennifer... you are going to kill me. I was about to have multiple heart attacks. PERFECTION.

I think I need a lifetime to recover.

AHHHHHH THE END!!!!!

dnf @ 13% well, you know, life happens, right? Again, like in all of those YA books: 15 y/o me would've loved these books, but my almost 23 y/o ass can't handle this or ignore some things that are really problematic, boring and that made me roll my eyes like an idiot. Y'all know that I can't fucking stand Katy and Daemon: they're just fucking assholes who are annoying as hell and FINALLY are together, but they're annoying₂ and that makes me insane. Really, I was about to puke because their "love" is wonderful, true and now they're a couple. Bruh, this reminded me how much I hated From Blood and Ash because of course you know that they're endgame. Anyhow, I'm glad that Dee doesn't want to talk with Katy, because actually, she deserves it. What happened to Adam (I guess that was his name, I don't even remember) is COMPLETELY her fault because Katy thought she was invencible and didn't need anybody. Guess what, sis? You're wrong and proves that everyone is in danger because of her. Blake appeared. Oh, yaaaai, he's the new hero, or it was villain? idk, he's just irrelevant and annoying, liKE EVERYONE IN THIS DAMN BOOK. This is a little reminder to myself that I won't ready any other of JLA. Hell no. I'll save myself from another cringey moments. PD in Spanish: la chava en la portada se parece a Teresa, de la telenovela con el mismo nombre, lmao.

lol, no. I don't know how to rate this book. Like 2,5? It was pretty crappy to be quiet honest and it's the first time, that it took me this long to read a book by JLA. Anyways, I hope the next one is going to be better *snort*

First off I am a huge fan of Daemon and the Lux Series. Obsidian and Onyx blew me away. It breaks my heart that I do not feel the same way about Opal. I love where the story line is going with Dawson back home with his family and trying to rescue Bethany. He is not the same since he has been taken away. He was always the fun, spirited sibling, but now back home he is brooding and fits his character well since he needs to get Bethany back. He is having a hard time connecting with his siblings. I loved that he is able to connect with Katy and open up to her. He has a connection with her since she was held captive and had similar stuff done to her in Onyx. She can relate to him. Daemon and Katy are a couple now and was not feeling any tension between them. The spark was missing and even the little hissy fits were resolved too fast and did not leave me saying OMG and have to turn my e-reader fast enough to see if they would be ok. Daemon was still swoon worthy letting Katy know that she has made him want to be different and a better person. So since that is the case was missing Daemon's smart mouth attitude. Got a little here and there but not like the old Daemon. His character felt a little off in the beginning as it seems his new favorite word was Awesome. Was not big on some scenes like Twilight. The Car scene when Daemon and Katy touched hands at the radio was a Twilight Flashback for me. For some reason when they all had to learn to run fast reminded me of Twilight books as well. Overall I did enjoy reading Opal and was hoping at some point it would of got better for me to at least rate it 4 stars - Loved it, but never happened for me. The ending was left in a cliffhanger but did feel like it was already done in one of the other Lux novel and nothing new. It was very predictable. I am still curious how the storyline will play out with the cliffhanger though and look forward to reading Origin (Lux #4) Originally posted at Wickedly Delicious Book Blog

Literally, every new instalment to this series is just getting better and better than the last! This book was sooooooo heart wrenching. After the death of a close friend, her friendship is pretty rocky with Dee, as in, Dee won't even speak and look at Katy. Poor Katy, after everything that happened in the last book, she needs a vacation. So, some weird stuff happens with Blake and Katy, Blake is being a sneaky little shit and it's kind of freaky when we find out what he's doing. Because of that, Katy FREAKS out and it's an amazing scene that I find myself re-reading often. She literally shows her badd-assnes and everything that has happened to her just explodes and we finally see Blake scared. The big mission in this book is to get Beth out from the DOD and the whole book was just planning and actually breaking into the DOD. More on that later though because... BREAKING NEWS BREAKING NEWS... I don't care that it is a spoiler but Katy and Daemon finally have sex!! It's a great scene and you can see the full extent of Daemon's love for Katy. ANYWAYS, While they are breaking into the DOD, Blake, once again, acts stupid and betrays them. Again, something happens right at the end, literally on the last page of the book and its a HUGE cliffhanger. Its crazy! I hated it yet loved it because Armentrout really is a genius. I felt like Katy has the worst luck, first with Blake, then getting hurt, and now this. Oh boy, the next book, Origin, is definitely going to be an interesting one. Ugh, what kind of ending was that??? I need more! Like, now! Jennifer Armentrout, you rock!

THAT ENDING JUST BROKE MY HEART!! I CANT BELIEVE THATS HOW IT ENDED! I knew something bad was going to happen but oh my god that was devastating!! This series is so amazing! I absolutely LOVED the relationship development between Katy & Daemon but that ending...so heart breaking. I'm so in love with these characters!

Leider schlechter als der 1 & 2 Teil doch immer noch gut. Ich fand das Buch hat sich etwas in die länge gezogen. Mit dem Ende hätte ich nicht gerechnet.

Are you kidding me? That cannot seriously be the end! Well now I'm going to be counting down the days until the next book. UGH!!!! STUPID CLIFFHANGERS

This series keeps me on the edge for every book. The story is so captivating and interesting it makes me not want to put it down. I highly recommend this series to anyone. It won't let you down !

Omg. My heart. 🥺❤️

This book was super exciting! Crazy suspenseful, which I am learning to expect from this author. Insane cliffhanger too! Ahhh must read the next one soon! I really liked learning about Dawson, but kind of wish the book had focused a bit more on him. I hope there is more about him and Beth in the next one. I really missed Dee, with her and Katy fighting she was really not a big character in this book. I also loved how Daemon and Katy's relationship developed in this one. One minor issue I have is Katy's supreme innocence...who over five thinks it's ok to say poo poo?? She actually said "ape poo poo"...This seriously bugged me. It pulled me out of the story because it was just so ridiculous and unrealistic for a 17 year old. Not a big thing though! Overall, a really great read.

Stopping at the first row, I bent over and tossed my hair over my head, shaking it out. “This reminds me of a Whitesnake video,” Daemon said. “Huh?” I ran my hands through my hair, hoping for the sexy look and not the “I had my head out of the car” look. “If you start climbing on car hoods, I think I might marry you.” Let me start this review by saying I typically am in bed overnight by 10:30 and I was up to 1:30 am. 12:30 was what I read till because I couldn't stop... and the extra hour was for staring at the ceiling wondering what just happened in the last 10 pages of Opal..... Daemon and Katy are in a good place in their relationship, and Daemon is adamant on having as many normal moments as possible. Dates, dinners, proms, and stolen kisses. But nothing in their lives will ever be normal... not for an alien and an hybrid. Not when they have to break into Mount Weather and save Beth from the inflictions of the Daedalus, and in order to do that they will have to train and come in contact with the one weapon that can weaken them, Onyx. Opal was by far my favorite out of the series so far! What I loved: - The evolution of Deamon and Katy -Katy's strength -the ACTION! -prom.. SWOON! I feel robbed.... -the humor... I smiled most of the book What I didn't love: -That it was 1:30 am and I couldn't start Origin -That somehow... 3 books in.... we still haven't learned to trust our "gut feeling", or creepy things people do that are a GIANT WARNING FLAG. Listen carefully... the creepy dude is ALWAYS as creepy as you think. Another day of throwing away responsibilities to continue this addicting series! JLA writes epic stories with characters you can't help but be consumed by. Rating: Story-⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 Pacing- easy read! I didn't struggle with this one. Romance- (sigh) Young Love❤️ Favorite part- anything with Daemon's sense of humor Steam- "Oh...... OHHHHHHH!!!! Wine coolers, blankets and a romantic fire by the lake? I feel cheated..." Song: Need the sun to break- James Bay

what the heck was that ending? review to come tomorrow!

They own me.

More of my reviews at Secrets of Lost Words *Spoilers if you haven't read the first two books* OMG OMG OMG.. *sigh* Opal :) It did not disappoint me. Ms. Armentrout, you will forever be my favorite author!!! Anyways, fangirling moment is over. In Opal, the best thing is that you get to see the other side of Daemon. The lovey-dovey, cuddly Daemon :3 They're so cute together >__< The threat from DOD isn't over. After saving Dawson last time, Beth is still in their hands. This book is mostly focused on Daemon + Katy's relationship and saving Beth. Those Daemon + Katy scenes were so cute!! Wish I had a Daemon *sigh* (I just realize reading about fictional boys makes my standards higher, lol). Some scenes were so intense!! And the ending.. IDKAHFASDKJ THE ENDING.. I CRIED... MEHHH.. I GOT DEPRESSED.. This book is definitely as good as all the others in the series.. Though my favorite will always be Obsidian.. GO READ THIS NOW.. Why are you even waiting? AND IF YOU HAVEN'T STARTED THIS SERIES.. GO BUY IT NOW.. HAVE YOU BEEN LIVING IN A CAVE OR SOMETHING??? GAH.. ^^You probably thought I was on drugs.. Sorry, I'm crazy and emotional..

The beginning and middle were pretty slow, took me a lot longer to read than the first two. The end was so good, real great cliffhanger.
