yes, this series is absolutely sooooo very “episode”, so very cliche, but sooooo very addicting. TWO YEARS LATER and I still cannot stop thinking about this book. it is about a non-human (technically, made of light) species. One of them, the main character, falls in love with a human, the main female character. it is about their relationship, their world vs earth, and… I won’t ruin the rest. But my obsession with these characters is otherworldly. The covers are awful hence why I listened to the audio books but the books are chef kiss to say the least.

I sort of hate myself for doing the one thing I said I would ALMOST never do. Read a series before it’s over.
 
I started reading the Lux series a while ago and honestly I don’t know what compelled me to read it at the time. I think maybe I thought it was over already? Man was I wrong! Picking up Origin I have NO IDEA what the heck is going on… Oh well, this book was still SUPER MAJORLY FANTASTIC OMG! It’s everything I wanted it to be after I finished reading Opal and SO MUCH MORE!
 
After Katy is captured by the DOD she’s transported to a facility that wants to study her, test her, and possibly experiment with her. Daemon is beside himself, not knowing what to do without her, being locked away so he doesn’t do anything foolish. But foolish happens to be Daemon’s middle name. He’ll do anything and everything to save Katy. Even if it means burning the world to save her. With the help of some old allies, and new ones, Daemon finds Katy and they are reunited. Now that they are together, they have to figure out a way out and how to get far away without the DOD chasing them.
 
Origin literally picks up right after Opal. There is no friendly walk-through, reminder of what happened in the last book to refresh your memory. If you, like me, picked up Origin months after reading Opal you may be a little bit lost. There were a lot of characters thrown at me, all at once and it was a bit difficult to keep up while trying to remember what the heck is going on in the story at the present time. It took me almost 70 pages to remember what even happened in Opal and how that story affected this one.
 
My advice: READ THE ENTIRE SERIES IN ONE GO. Don’t wait in between books or you may forget what’s happening.
 
The story was truly captivating and I loved Daemon’s POV. I don’t know what it is about male POV that’s just…so…sexy. A point I touched upon in another one of my reviews was that book boyfriends aren’t afraid TO FEEL things. They are DESPERATE to be with their loved ones, no matter what it takes. Daemon is not afraid to admit how much he loves Katy, and he isn’t afraid to show it either. He’ll do anything to protect her and that I think is something that women and young girls want… that’s why we read!
 

“There’s eighty-six thousand, four hundred seconds in a day, right? There’re one thousand, four hundred, and forty minutes in a day.”
 Her brow knitted. “Okay. I’ll take your word for it.”
 “I’m right.” I tapped my finger against my head. “A lot of useless knowledge up here. Anyway, are you following me? There’re one hundred and sixty-eight hours in a week. Around eighty-seven hundred and then some hours in a year, and you know what?”
 She smiled. “What?”
 “I want to spend every second, every minute, every hour with you.” Part of me couldn’t believe something that cheesy had come out of my mouth, but it was also beautifully true. “I want a year’s worth of seconds and seconds minutes with you. I want a decade’s worth of hours, so many that I can’t add them up.”

Aside from the main cast, I have to say I really like Luc. I mean I liked him before but he was KINDA CREEPY. I mean he’s still creepy but he’s cute, he’s funny… HE’S SOMEONE I WOULD LOVE TO PUNCH ALL THE TIME just for being a smartass, but he always makes me smile. (I mean Daemon’s a smartass too but he’s sexy, and I wouldn’t want to punch sexy *wink*) There’s one thing though, something that’s bothering me about Luc. I don’t know what it is but he rubs me the wrong way. I swear if he ends up being SUPER EVIL GENIUS EVIl I’m going to be really upset.
 

“Guys.” Luc sighed, sliding off the bar. “Seriously? Can’t you two bromance it out?”
 
“And what’s your plan? How are you going to get her out?” he asked, curious.
 Good question. “I haven’t gotten that far yet.”
 Luc watched me a moment, then busted into laughter. “Good plan. I like it. Only a few things could go wrong with that.”
 
You know, for the longest time I don’t think I liked Daemon very much. At least in the beginning… But he improved over time and I got to love his personality, his quirkiness, his humour and his desire to be with Katy no matter how bad the situation. I really admire/love him for that. Plus, he’s sexy as hell and has a smart mouth that makes you want to smile anytime he says pretty much ANYTHING. He’s also not afraid to be straight-up with people, and has no problem with authority figures.
 

“Say it,” I whispered.
 His hand slid up my spine, leaving a wake of shivers. “Say what, Kitten?”
 “You know.”
 He rubbed his chin in my hair. “I love…my car, Dolly.”
 My lips cracked into a tiny grimace. “That’s not it.”
 “Oh.” His voice dripped innocence. “I know. I love Ghost Investigators.”
 
There are a lot of new faces as well as old ones and twists and turns that get revealed that WILL FOR SURE shock you and make your eyes pop out of their sockets. Not to mention we get to see more of Katy and Daemon’s relationship as it blossoms and grows stronger and stronger for the other. To love someone so much and to have them love you the same way…I hope they have a HAPPY ENDING! They better!!!
 
One more book to go!
 
All I know is Opposition is going to be BIG! And I’m going to miss Katy and Daemon! But if ANYONE dies….I’m going to be MAJORLY pissed!

3.5 stars. I feel bad for what Katy went through, but I also think that her post escape trauma was not addressed and she kind of got over it fairly quickly. I don't know there was a lot going on with her in Daedulus and I don't think I would have been as "ok" as she was. 
I loved meeting Archer! He was a perfect addition to the series and Lux crew. I love Daemon and how far he will go for the one's he loves (especially Katy).

Maybe it'll sound crazy, but I like Luc. He kinda reminds me of Alois, from Black Butler (Manga, anime).

There were a lot unexpected things. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone, but the death of a few people, the betrayels, the love, the feels..so the entire thing was touching, funny, romantic, with a lot of alien stuff, and yes, I loved it!
The only thing I want now, is to read the fifth book.
And Daemon, of course. I want him too.

What the hell?? That ending! She always leaves us wanting more with a cliffhanger in every book, whyyyyy JLA, whyyyy?

Each book probably has more and more twists, suspense, and surprising information each time, and they each keep getting sexier… this time they finally—woops, almost spoiled you for a minute, you’ll have to read this series to find out!

Daemon and Katy’s relationship grew stronger in this book because of what they had to go through, poor Katy. I feel bad for saying she was so annoying in Onyx now… *gives katy a big embracing hug* I cant believe what they did in this book, even if it’s not really official, it still meant the world to them, how sweet is that? *swoons* Daemon is becoming a fictional boyfriend of mine, and sometimes he and Katy remind me of me and my boyfriend, obviously not the whole Alien part… but how they act together and their relationship.

I love the significance of the titles in the series, they all have a huge impact on each book, like Origins, bloody hell, they’re something so different from Luxen and Hybrids and even more stronger and powerful and dangerous. The stunts they pull in this book is crazy!

Not sure if I like this book cover as much as the others but it's not the ugliest I've seen. This book was pretty funny, and sassy I will admit (I know Katy has been taken and being tortured, but after the fact). Also, I loved the fact that Katy is literally in Area 51. That's so awesome, pretty cool. Blake gets his fate and Katy does something that honestly, he deserves. The big fight for Daemon is to get Katy back and sure enough he does everything in his power, kills everyone within reach, and rest assured, does get to see Katy. Also, we get introduced to Archer, the mysterious guard that makes sure Katy doesn't leave her cell. Archer turns out to be pretty important to the plot so stay tuned to that.

We get to finally see the Origins, and how they act and what exactly they are. They are creepy and scary and Katy is scared of them, like everyone should be. I HATE how petty Dee was being, the fact she seriously didn't try to save Katy, bitch move. Katy becomes ruthless in this novel and she really comes into her skin and realizes the stakes are high and there's no more time for games anymore. From the beginning of the book to the end, it was action packed and I found this book the best in the series by far. Obsidian was great for sure, but Origin really pulled my strings with the race to survive. 

We get to go into Las Vegas, and theres a huge battle, which was really awesome because I felt so exhausted after reading that whole scene just by how action-packed it was. We actually travel a lot in this book, first Area 51, then Las Vegas, and finally Idaho where I assume will be the setting for the last and final book, Opposition. I cant wait to see what Armentrout does with the last book and how she's going to wrap it up!

OMG! I did not see that ending coming! This book was very different from the other three but I loved it! It was fast paced, action packed, heart wrenching, and an emotional ride..I'm SO EXCITED TO READ OPPOSITION! Loving where this is heading!

The offspring to a Luxen and hybrid who are the most willing and powerful, but they are being created as weapons.

Although this book was full of action, adventure and heart pounding moments it also was full of love, hope, and romance.

THIS book is what I was craving for in the series.

If you asked me in the beginning of this series I would have said "Aliens? weird... pass.."

Now... I'm wondering where I can get my own Lite Brite man.

Again, I'm loving being back in this world and I totally forgot a major twist in this story. I'm still shocked that I forgot this. Origin is filled with amazing characters, action, humor and romance. I'm so glad I'm re-reading this series!!

Probably the only one to say this, but... This was my least favourite of the series so far! But as you can see from my rating, I still really enjoyed it!

The positives:
- Daemon & Katy's relationship *swoon*
- THE ENDING!!!!!
- Dawson & Beth
(view spoiler)[- Matthew's betrayal was so unexpected
- Beth's pregnancy, I saw it coming from a looong way, but I still loved it! (hide spoiler)]

The negatives:
- The dual perspective... It was cool to see the world from Daemon's POV, but I prefer just reading from Katy's POV at this point
(view spoiler)[- Blake's death just seemed to rushed and it felt like it was there just to get rid of him
- The marriage? I get they love each other, but that happened way too fast for me (hide spoiler)]

This book was a huge improvement on the rest of the series. The main problem I have had with this series is that there isn't just much plot to them and is mostly filler content. This book flipped the ratio's between the two. Origin was action packed and constantly kept moving. It also expanded a lot on the world as we're more on the inside of the oppesite side. The direction this book took the story in I liked very, very much. I also really liked the new characters we were introduced in this book and I can't wait to learn more about them in the next and final book. I was hesitant going into this book because I didn't like Opal at all, however, this book left me very excited to finally finish this series. The main reason I didn't like the previous book in this series is because it just didn't have the special charm/addictiveness that book one and two had for me. This book also missed that charm. It was still a quick read because the plot just moved so much faster than the other books but I wasn't addicted to it as much as I was hoping to. I also found myself predicting most of the plot twists and big reveals, not really leaving my shocked at all. I did have fun theorizing throughout this book though. So yeah, in conclusion, I didn't like this book as much as book one and two but it's a huge improvement from book 3 and now I can't wait to read book 5.

Sweet mother of alien babies was this Baby INTENSE!!!!! We jump right in from where Opal left off and it is just up and down from there. By the end, I was crying, cussing, and so tense from not knowing what is going to happen in the next book. I just want an HEA so badly, but so don't want this series to end either.

This is easily the best book in the Lux series. The quality of the writing has improved, the story line was engaging and interesting, and I actually felt invested in a way I haven't felt in this series yet. While reading Opal, I wasn't sure if I would continue with this series, but I'm glad I did now. I'm actually eager to read Opposition. Origin is my favorite so far!

This book was utterly, incredibly, irresistibly, impressively amazing (throwing adverbs out there like Daemon haha). So much happened in this book I don't even know where to start this. This book was completely different, shit hits the fan in this book. The whole time I was like 'Holy Crap on a cracker' as Katy would say. I was shocked with every chapter, I just never expected what was going on! I was flabbergasted with the direction the book was taking. There's a lot of death and there are shocking revelations! The meaning behind the title is insane. I was happy, sad, excited, angry, scared even. I just didn't know where Jennifer was going to take things, but she created an amazing book.
There is this new guy Archer and I'm really intrigued about what will happen with him and someone (you'll see)
I loved the book references, there is a Sweet Evil (one of my favorite's) reference in there which I loved and made me laugh a lot. 
I loved the dual POV, it was mesmerizing to be inside Daemon's head, a truly incredible experience, you understand so much things and get to experience first hand his love for Kat and it's just beautiful.
I have no idea what will happen in the next book, what turns will it take I don't know. What I know is that I'm 100% sure it will be mind blowing just like Origin and I can't wait for it to comce out! Now the long wait awaits. *sigh* Thank God there are other Jennifer books in between, if not I'd go crazy (still am but a little less crazy)
