I received an ARC of this story through Hidden Gems and this is my honest and voluntary review. I really had to push myself through this book at times. I like the premise of childhood friends rekindling their relationship into something more... However, Sarah was rather frustrating and childish as the heroine of this story. She's, quite literally, waiting for her prince to come, or a suitably dashing pirate. She's got her head in the clouds from reading too many romances and when James is trying to woo her, even speak to her, she stubbornly clings to the past and tries to refuse to let anything he says or does mean anything to her. James should have just written her off, I lost patience with her by the end of the first couple chapters. I had higher hopes for this book.
