I spend my weekend reading this series. But the entire series actually, one two book in the series. 

I like how the story's written. I like the strong the character of the Heroin but overall the story was okay. Nothing really bad nor exciting but it was readable.

Definitely beach/vacation material. Totally trashy, I read it in 2 days. It's a lot of fun, though, if you're looking for something light and fluffy!

I read The Marriage Bargain (Marriage of a Billionaire #1) and it was only a so-so, 2 star read for me. I am happy I took another chance on Jennifer Probst and read The Marriage Mistake. I liked reading The Marriage Mistake and give it 3 stars, but I wanted to love it as it had the most interesting storyline with the hero having to train his best friend sister in their business. I love books with a hero always having feelings for his best friend sister but The Marriage Mistake fell a little short in that department for me. 

Max was a likable, sexy character who steamed up my e-reader but was at times not sure of himself. It took a jealous moment with a friend of his and a pep talk from him for Max to realize Carina liked to be submissive in the bedroom. 

The chemistry between Max and Carina were up and down through out the book. One minute I could feel their chemistry and then the next it was flat. The mentioned of “Shades Of Grey” from Carina when he pulled out a scarf for their first time lovemaking scene was a downer for me but once I got over that, they definitely did burn up the sheets in the bedroom. 

Even though this is a series and all the characters from book 1 and 2 were in The Marriage Mistake I did not feel lost. It can be read as a stand alone. The writing flow is choppy and is very easy to put down and pick back up, but does have potential with a good storyline.

Short but definitely worth a read. The plot is pretty formulaic, but if you're looking for a short and fast-paced marriage-of-convinience / friend's sibling romance, this is a perfect fit.

Maybe if I would've had read this 3 years ago, I would have loved it...but after reading a lot of books, this story was pretty fast, predictable and did not have a lot of angst. It was definitely funny and I absolutely loved the scene where the FMC pours ice cream on her husband but unfortunately it did not make my heart hurt and cry...which was basically what I was looking for when I started reading this.

If you're new to the Marriage of Convenience & Unrequited Love trope, then you should try this one.

Alexa's first kiss was amazing, until Nick ruined it all by breaking her heart immediately afterwards.

Fast forward fifteen years later, Nick needs a wife to fulfill a clause in his Uncle's will, but he only needs a wife for one year. Alexa needs $150,000 to save her mother's home. They strike up a bargain and quickly get married, despite their disdain for each other and of course their COMPLETE LACK of chemistry. Sounds like the perfect bargain, until their hearts get involved.

The entire premise was preposterous, including the ruse to trick the family. However, the banter and steam made up for the absurdities. Perfect book for reading in the yard while keeping one eye on a wily three year old.

The Marriage Bargain was the typical marriage of convenience story, but the emotions of the characters and the quick-witted banter of the dialogue took it to another level beyond ordinary. Even though the book was fairly short, I enjoyed the development of the characters and the motives behind their actions. A simple story but well worth the read.
