A reread. During my initial read in 2013 a compelling read I could not seem to put down. Now it's still an interesting premise with good twists but with what felt like to many stops and often times my reading failed to gain momentum. Part of this could have been me. I wonder if I'm aging out of some YA.
3.5 stars This was an interesting and original read which i have to say i really enjoyed. There were several plot twits that i didnt see coming a mile off, which is always refreshing as theres nothing worse than an overly predictable book. I found the characters interesting, and found myself wanting to relate to them more than i actually could. It seems to me like characters such as Anna and Sam could have done with a bit more character development as the novel went on. Cas and Nick were probably my favourite characters in this book though; i have a thing for the silly and grouchy ones. Overall a good, but not life changing book. I will definitely be reading the next book in the series.
I’d use a blue-ish gray color to describe this book, almost like the sky after a storm. This book was so so good, I devoured it! It was the perfect mix of adventure, mystery, romance, and laughter inducing parts. I often say that when you have to reread a paragraph because it was so good, that’s how you know it’s a great book. Also I definitely didn’t guess one of the biggest plot twists so that was refreshing. Now I’m sad because I have to wait for my library to reopen to get the next book in the series. • In this book Anna has lived above a lab in her basement for many years. Inside the lab are four, genetically altered, boys. When it’s time for the Branch, who own the boys, to come pick them up, the boys don’t let that happen. The boys leave the lab for the first time in 5 years taking Anna with them as they navigate being on the run.

Love I love this book it's my fave out of the students actually a 're read of the series because a new one came out and it's been a couple of years since reading them I couldn't put this one down again and read it in a day it's so good.
