okay maybe bc i read the other two first this felt kinda of a snooze but friends to lovers was so cute honestly i wanted a bit more yearning from both of them but the “i dont wanna ruin the friendship” chefs kiss

I LOVE how well @jennyproctorbooks writes closed-door romances! This is probably my 3rd or 4th book I've read by her, and she always delivers. Talking about this plot, Brody and Kate were childhood best friends with Brody being in love with Kate for forever (uh, cute!), but he never said anything because Kate dreamed big and far. Fast forward, Kate is in town again (after going no contact for years?!) and it's sort of Brody's last chance to confess. *sigh* this was all so sweet and cute and calm. Loved every single second of it and i wish i can find more time soon so i can finish all the books i have in my library

“He laughs. His expression is warm, his eyes fully engaged in our conversation. He’s already doing it again, looking at me with that intense, brown gaze, his attention wholly on me. “I’m just seeing you, Kate,” he would always say. And he did see me. All of me. Saw my sadness, my frustration, my loneliness whenever I was particularly annoyed with my mom. And he always reacted accordingly, taking care of my emotions like no one else ever has.” 🥺

Brody: 🥰😏😍🥺 Kate: 🙄🤔😡😐
