I was lucky enough to have been asked to be a regular ARC Reader for Jeremy Ray. This is the third book of Jeremy’s I have read and oh my goodness, this is the most beautiful, heart wrenching and unique short story. I cannot believe how such a short story made me so emotional. It is the story of a house plant named George and his owner Brenda, about death and grief. It will make you think about plants differently I guarantee. I would suggest this story for everyone, it is such a beautiful book, one I will definitely remember. Jeremy, you are a beautiful writer. Please go get yourself a copy, you won’t be disappointed. ¡Una lectura corta pero definitivamente maravillosa!

En serio, me encantó esta historia. Nunca pensé que me apegaría a una historia narrada por una planta, pero creo que Jeremy creó un personaje increíble. Ves a George no solo como una planta en un rincón de la habitación, sino como una criatura viva que respira y tiene sentimientos. Sus pensamientos me hicieron reír, especialmente todo el monólogo sobre Brenda siendo una torturadora de plantas. Esta historia corta ofrece un golpe de emociones que abarca el dolor, la inseguridad, la aceptación y el amor incondicional.

The Houseplant de Jeremy Ray es una historia breve que te hará repensar tu relación con las plantas. Estoy súper feliz con cómo terminó la historia al final. Y sí, NECESITO UNA PLANTA EN MI VIDA.

A short but definitely stunning read!

I seriously loved this story. I never thought I’d get attached to a story narrated by a houseplant but i think Jeremy created such a beautiful character . You see George not just as a plant in one corner of the room but as a living, breathing creature with feelings. His thoughts made me laugh, especially entire monologue about Brenda being a plant torturer. This short story delivers a whammy of emotions. It covers grief, insecurity, acceptance and unconditional love.

The Houseplant by Jeremy Ray is an insightful short story that will make you rethink your relationships with plants!. I am super happy with how the story wrapped itself up in the end. And yes I NEED A HOUSEPLANT IN MY LIFE.
