Let me preface this review by saying that this is a book review on this story, and in no way does this mean that I stand/agree with the author's personal political/social views. With that being said... After reading The Long Way Home, I wasn't sure where the story would go next 0r how much of the events that transpired would be talked about in Into the Dark, but man, this story alone could've been the main topic of discussion in any therapy session with the way I felt like I was right there in the trenches with our main characters just going THROUGH IT. I have so many theories of what the next DH story might be about, and all I can see is pain in my future. I honestly think the author is going to put her readers through the ringer before we get any semblance of a happily ever after, but I'm here for it, if and whenever that story decides to reach the light of day.

So emotional and what a journey 🥹

It has been a while since I have felt so deeply and sobbed how I did reading this. Magnolia is truly such an imperfect perfect person and so relatable and unrelatable. Love her and him so much. Also pls hurry with the next daisy haites I need to know what happened with Christian

I was scared going into this one. I won’t lie. After the ending of the last Magnolia Parks book I wasn’t sure how I was going to make it through. There were some tough parts but there were some really good parts. I think Magnolia has grown so much as a character since book one. It was a rollercoaster and not an nice, kiddie type one. Nope one that you have fun on but get a little nauseous  because of the vast amount of times you decided to ride and out yourself through the eventual pain it will cause. It also left so many questions for what will be the last book in this series too. But for this being Magnolia em B.J.’s conculsion and it was a crazy ride to it but it was unforgettable. Like what are the chances a specific couple would make me view bathtubs differently for the rest of my life?

what a privilege it has been to live in these characters' minds. they absolutely pissed me off at least 85% of the time but i think that just made me love them even more. 

seeing magnolia and bj finally living as a (semi-)functioning couple has been the greatest relief and their love is truly so (unhealthily) wonderful. 
these characters are my best friends and yes i do have an issue with parasocial relationships but i really cannot bring myself to care. 

my heart is breaking into a million pieces knowing their story is over and i will no longer be able to live in their minds but i'm incredibly grateful to have experienced a story so touching that it ending makes me feel like this. 

now excuse me while i go scream every second of every day until daisy 3 is released because what in the hell was going on with these people

Spoilers: whilst I enjoyed this book immensely (and the most out of Magnolias 3 part series), the only irk I had was the constant over dramatisation of Magnolias “sexual being” which I did find odd because apart from the last book where she started having casual sex, prior she didn’t really sleep with anyone except for BJ and Tom England. It was a little odd to add this “plot point” so late in the piece. All and all a very happy ending. I loved BJs POV most of all. Magnolia annoyed me a little sometimes but not always.
