3.5/5 ♡ this book was adorable, entertaining, and fun, but also frustrating at times.

i'm not sure if i'm getting tired of YA romance, but this wasn't as enjoyable as i thought it'd be. the characters and situations felt as if they were taken out of a disney channel show. it made me laugh and smile at first, but after a while it became draggy. it was really unrealistic. but sometimes, you NEED those types of stories so i appreciated it nonetheless.

i love the concept and idea behind the plot. reliving one day until it's perfect? and when it becomes perfect, being forced to relive it because your idea of "perfect" still wasn't quite right? this is a book that's all about ~finding yourself~ and understanding who and what matters in your life. people will come and go; knowing who is important to you now is a great thing to recognize.

although the characters could be annoying and the situations could be artificial, i really enjoyed myself! the story was really fun and easy to get into, and it often felt like i was watching a movie. the book did feel a bit long at times, but i still finished it really quickly and easily. a great read if you're looking for something lighthearted and cute!

In this teen romantic comedy in the vein of the movie Groundhog Day, a girl must relive the Monday that her boyfriend dumps her over and over and over again until she gets it right.

i loved this boook!! so in one way, this was like another book I read called "Before I Fall" by Lauren Oliver. both Girls get stuck in time. But both books are unique in their own way.

Ellison Sparks is having the worst Monday ever. She runs a red light and gets a ticket while driving herself and her best friend, Owen(<3), to school. She forgets her umbrella and gets soaked in the rain. Right before it's time to take her school picture which turns out terribly, of course. She gives the worst election speech for Junior Class Vice-President in the history of ever. She doesn't make the cut at softball tryouts. Worst of all, her dreamy rockstar boyfriend Tristan dumps her at the carnival, on what should have been their dream date.
 Ellie tries again and again to get her Monday right until she starts to realize that maybe the dream Monday she's been chasing isn't so perfect after all!

The author knew how to make good use of the repeating days to flesh out Ellie's character and explore different aspects of her life over the course of this unusual week. We, readers, get to see part of her world as Ellie begins to show us into other parts of her day, including why her parents are fighting every morning and what problems her younger sister is facing at school.

While some of Ellie's decisions may seem obvious from the start, this story is more about the journey than the destination. Ellie's character development and growth over the course of the novel more than makes up for any predictability to the plot. The payoff at the end of Ellie's "week" also seamlessly brings every repeated Monday together for a satisfying conclusion. I loved it!

Something about this book just made it seem so irresistibly adorable to me. A Y/A romance groundhog day type novel that just kept me hooked from beginning to end. I loved all the characters so much, and although it was predictable, it is definitely worth a read!!

In a nutshell
I've read one other book by Jessica Brody (52 Reasons to Hate My Father) and really enjoyed her characters. They are the perfect blend of real, snarky, and ever changing. A Week of Mondays was no exception to this formula. 
I'm not going to say I didn't go into this thinking it would be WAY similar to another book. I'd like to say that I don't think that after reading this. The only thing I can say that was more or less similar was the "reliving the same day day over and over again* 

The book is broken down into 7 Mondays, and at the end of each Monday we get a chapter that takes us back to how Ellie met Tristan which I really found interesting because we learned how they became a couple.

Characters
As I said up top I love her characters. They are flawed, and that makes them a bit more relatable to me. 
I believe that Ellie learns something new each Monday that she lives, and despite almost always getting dumped she becomes more aware of who she is and what she has.

Owen is that best friend who secretly has a crush on Ellie. I love these type of best friends because at first they may seem unimportant but in the end they become something. They sometimes have it harder then the MC and still remain grounded (usually).


Ending
I loved the ending it definitely had the HEA that I love to see, but it did it so easily after the the crazy week of Mondays Ellie went through. It wasn't explained as to why or how it happened. I know that sometimes it doesn't need that, but I'm curious.

** spoiler alert **
           First of all, I would like to take a moment to recognize this cover . Yes, the girl and he guy are both relatively crusty . And I had many people look at my book and ask ,”why is the girl different in all the pictures but the guy is exactly he same?” I continued to explore the answer to this baffling question . But it really is an amazing example of foreshadowing ! I mean, Ellie , the main character, tried to be different people in every Monday so that she can get the outcome she THINKS she wants . But really , she never ends up getting what she wants , and Tristan usually has the same response to her at the end of the day . That is, until the LAST Monday . But by then Tristan is practically nothing to her .

Anyways, yes , as soon as Owen was introduced as Ellie’s best friend , it was preeeeeety obvious she would end up with him over Tristan . But that did not , however , make his book any less addicting . Not that I expect less from Jessica Brody . But . I have run out of her books . So after I finish this review and decide what to read next , I’m prolly gonna order some more of her amazing books . 

In conclusion , this book has one side effect . Depression and Struggle to Choose a New Book to Read because you Know it won’t be as Good as this one . Anyways , this book was amazing . So . Read it !!
