Grathian is still a weird language when rendered in Sleynian (by way of English). But the world building is fantastic and sometimes horrific. http://pussreboots.com/blog/2017/comm...

This series needs some more character development. The stories are whimsical and fun. The characters are enjoyable. The settings are creative. But the character arc seems to stay the same all throughout the series. I enjoyed reading the books aloud to my 9 year old daughter, and we might explore another Jessica Day George series. If she continues the Castle Glower series (which I hope she does), it would be great to have the characters develop and change more.
