Southern bombshell was a blast to read. Nate & Milly had a secret relationship a couple years ago (due to hatred in their families) when Nate broke her heart but ultimately broke his too. They get their second chance when Nate’s fiancé breaks things off right around the time Nate realizes he’s still in love with Milly. 

Now that they are back in each other’s lives, they are fighting to stay there.

Jessica Patterson does an amazing job at make the reader take a second look at their lives by driving home the point of “what is enjoyable in life if your not having fun and slowing down”. Nate helps Milly slow down so she isn’t so stressed from work and always trying to be “productive. 

This book worked for me because the author showed a clear plot point and followed it all the way home. I also enjoyed how the characters truly stay in their southern voice which helps me fall further into this book. You can tell the author did an amazing job either researching the local area and twang for where she was writing or she is from there. 

Southern bombshell is a sweet and simple read yet very easy to fall into and not want to put the book down. This series is a great weekend vacation read, where it isn’t too heavy but you will be thinking about it even after you set the book down.
