David Baddiel

How identity politics failed one particular identity. ‘That rarest of things, an apparent ‘must read’ that turns out to be actual must read. Brilliant stuff.’ ADAM KAY ‘a masterpiece.’ STEPHEN FRY

Jews Don’t Count

David Baddiel examines the -ism that woke culture and identity politics leave behind: antisemitism. Jews Don't Count is a book for people on the right side of history. People fighting the good fight against homophobia, disablism, transphobia and, particularly, racism. People, possibly, like you. It is the comedian and writer David Baddiel's contention that one type of racism has been left out of this fight. In his unique combination of reasoning, polemic, personal experience and jokes, Baddiel argues that those who think of themselves as on the right side of history have often ignored the history of anti-Semitism. He outlines why and how, in a time of intensely heightened awareness of minorities, Jews don't count as a real minority.

An accessible read with some good stuff in it. It basically tries to place the lived experience of Jews in the framework of identity politics and seems like it does a decent job of it. The audiobook was well-read by the author and had some entertaining moments.

It's your civic duty to read and understand this book! 👍📖

This is one of those short, concise books that I just want to put in everyone's hands.

A really interesting read that had me thinking about my own experiences with antisemitism. I wonder if anyone in my life that isn't Jewish will read this book. I wish they would!

I strongly reccomend this book to anyone committed to being anti-racist.

A direct, clear and illuminating account of antisemitism as it is experienced by Jews. I have been paying attention for some time as I have a Jewish partner, but Baddiel's book challenged and engaged me. We all have more to learn, thank you David for teaching me!
