Assessing the Impact of Research A Case Study of the LSAY Research Innovation and Expansion Fund

The Research Innovation and Expansion Fund (RIEF) was initiated to increase the quantity, quality, distribution and accessibility of Longitudinal Surveys of Australian Youth (LSAY) research in the academic and public policy communities. This paper assesses the success of this Fund, using a framework developed by the National Centre for Vocational Education Research to measure research impact in the domains of 'producing knowledge', 'building capacity', 'informing policy', and 'informing practice'.
