Fellow ‘inmate’ Walter Clements also plans on returning home as soon as he is fit and able to take charge of his mobility scooter. 
When they officially meet at The Night Owls, a clandestine club run by Sister Bronwyn and her dog, Queenie, they seem at odds. 

I really liked this one! I enjoyed reading about the adventures of the residents of Woodlands, and believe me, those old ones sure know how to stir things up 😂 
I also learned more about what it’s like for the elderly to be in a nursing home, which will hopefully help me be an awesome nurse like Sister Bronwyn. She really has become an inspiration for me and I hope I’ll be able to care for others like she does. 

I also hope to be like Hattie and Walter when I’m old because they still try to make the best of everything with what they have. I always liked talking with elderly and listen to their advice and stories so this book was perfect for it. 
It is a bit slow-paced which made it sometimes a bit hard for me to get through but it was still a really pleasant, heartwarming and hilarious read!
