Such a sweet story! I love the characters, and raw emotion of the characters coming through their own traumas and up for air for the first time. Beautiful reminders to live, laugh, love, be kind, and speak up when you see something inappropriate, or someone doing wrong. Love the lesson here: be brave, especially when you feel broken or scared, your beauty is how you treat others.

Wow, this book was an emotional rollercoaster. This author isn't afraid to touch subjects that are hard for people. Two people that suffered a tragedy get closer, but it's not as perfect as it seems. I can't say too much without giving any spoliers, but I couldn't put this book down. Sloane and Luke have to learn to deal with what happened in their lives. Certain events leave scars and they have to give it a place in the way they live now. There was also a twist in this book I did not see coming and I loved that the author added it (if you read the book you will know what I'm talking about). It's not only the kids at school that leave imprints.

The story follows Sloane Munster who has to get her life back on track after a horrible accident left her scarred, both physically and mentally. She immediately runs into Luke, a boy she had known before the accident from swimming, but there is a twist in the story. 

I found the story was fast paced, and the characters were extremely likable, especially Sloane, I could identify with her, also having a scar, I could put myself in her shoes and know the struggle to try fit in while you feel like you are a big target. 

The story was gripping and I couldn’t put it down. The only thing I had a problem with, was the fact that the end was very abrupt. I half expected an epilogue, but this doesn’t deter me, would read it again in a heartbeat. 

Definitely a must read if you are a fan of contemporary romance.
