Jock Row
Reviews

Five giant swooning stars! Oh my heart, oooh the sweetness that is Rowdy Wade! I could go on and on about this flipping adorable and sexy book but let me give to your short and sweet. It’s a MUST read!

This review was originally posted on Addicted To Romance In this story is a new adult sports romance where our hero is a baseball player. Not a super common sport that we see in romance but I will point out that this story is not super focused on the sport itself. So it’s really sport lite and the primary focus of the story is the romance between the two characters. This is my first time reading this author and for my first time into a new author I have to say that I was impressed with how much I found myself engaged into this story here. Way more than I was honestly expecting especially at the beginning which started out a bit slow but it does pick up pretty quickly after a few chapter so you definitely want to stick with this book for sure. I won’t say that this story is super spectacular but quite a fun filled ride that this author takes us on. Scarlett is very sensible. Out of all of her friends she isn’t looking for casual sex or do get herself drunk on the weekends. She is recovering from a cold and goes out with her friends but doesn’t look the part like her girlfriends do. When she arrives to the party which is the home for the baseball team and their groupies of sorts. When she arrives she is put out on the porch because she is ruining the fun with the flirting games between some of the players and her girlfriends. But she finds herself stuck on the porch with the leader of the team, Rowdy Wade. Rowdy and Scarlett begin their story with lots of flirting and enjoy each other on the front porch and week after week they meet up around the same time and soon they begin to fall hard for each other as their friendship turns into something deeper. This story was simply wonderful and I had so many laughs while reading this book here. This author really knows how to get a reaction out of me and I adore this friends to lovers trope because with each step into the relationship we see the devotion these two have for each other and how much they truly care about each other and it’s definitely more of a slow burn relationship but I really love seeing the sexual chemistry being built up. I also never expected for this book to charm me so well. This story definitely turned out much different than I expected, in a good way. This is SO not a complaint. I was in the mood for a sweet endearing story and this book really fit the bill. I had a blast with the cruise scene and seeing Rowdy’s relationship with his parents and most especially his mother, she was such a hoot. I can’t wait to explore more of this authors writing because I fell in love with her style here. Overall I can’t recommend Jock Row enough, it’s a story of sweet friendship, endearing flirtation and depths when you least expect it ….truly a win of a read here

S’good Low on the drama with a slow build but ultimately a HEA. It just didn’t hit all the places for me but I had no issue reading through. I was actually surprised when I reached the end ... perhaps waiting for the conflict. A sweet romance, first person, friends to lovers to forever. If you are a fan of new adult jock romances, try this book, too!

Scarlett and Rowdy. Cute.

This was the most ADORABLE, CHEESY, SWEET, and FUN thing ever!!! I loved every second! I read this in under 24 hours because I couldn’t put it down! I loved the idea of each chapter taking place on a Friday on the porch and just watching them fall in love. There was no drama, it was just about these two people just falling love and navigating their relationship, and it was STEAMY!! And you guys, STERLING!! I love him so much, he’s the sweetest guy ever. I can’t believe I’ve never picked up a Sara Ney book before, I’m so excited to dive into the rest of this series and all of her books!

Find this review and more at kimberlyfaye reads. I can't even begin to tell you how much I loved Jock Row. Though, I suppose I have to try since I'm writing a review, huh? :) I've been a big fan of everything I've read (so far) of Sara's, so I've been eagerly anticipating her new Jock Hard series since reading the prequel novella Switch Hitter a few months ago. I'm always on the lookout for my next favorite new adult sports romance series and this one could wind up being one of them. I'll admit I was a little skeptical of "Rowdy" at first. While he wasn't as much of a jerk as the other guys on the team, I definitely side-eyed him in the beginning. But I think that basically only lasted for the duration of the first night, when he kicked Scarlett out of the house. It didn't take me all that long to realize he was a special kind of guy. I really liked Scarlett right from the start. I admire her lady balls in going back to the house again and again after she was kicked out initially. I'm damn sure I wouldn't have had the nerve to do it. But, I'm also really glad she did because Rowdy was worth it. And they were freaking adorable together. Granted, they got off to a rough start, but the transition to friendship and the s l o w burn that came with it made me so happy. I couldn't get enough of Scarlett and Rowdy. I couldn't even read the book as quickly as I wanted to because I HAD TO savor it (some, anyhow). Their banter and that delicious slow burn and build up, the swoons, the ridiculous adorableness with Rowdy and his family. Every little bit of it was perfection. Oh, and it did get delightfully hot and sexy before it was all said and done, too. Rowdy had a dirty mouth and I was absolutely there for it. Jock Row gave me all the cheesy grins and heart eyes and it's absolutely going in my "reread this often" pile. I can't wait to see whose story we get next! I received a complimentary copy of this book for review consideration. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. FAVORITE QUOTES "If you're saying there's even a chance of letting me inside your tight, wet pussy, I'm willing to wait until you're ready." I'm an athlete—a champion. I play hard and jock harder, and these little games I've started with her? I'm playing to win. "Sometimes I don't know what to say around her anymore, or where to put my hands—like, I just want to hug her all the time and I don't give a shit that we haven't had sex yet." Long pause. "Okay that's a lie, I totally give a shit that we haven't had sex, but I don't want to freak her out. She's so smart, Mom." I look at him. I see him. I love him.

Originally posted at Booklovers For Life I had a huge smile on my face the entire time I was reading Jock Row. I was actually pleasantly surprised by this book – I had expected a good sports romance (it’s Sara Ney, after all), but I wasn’t sure what kind of hero we would be getting. Would he be a douchebag, like Sara’s previous series? Or someone even better? Turns out Rowdy Wade is as sweet as they can come – I adored his and Scarlett’s slow burn romance. Jock Row is perfect for friends-to-lovers fans, for when you want to feel that anticipation of the main characters realizing how much they’ve actually fallen for each other, and moving on to something more. If there’s a college romance you need to read this year, let it be Jock Row! This is why I keep coming back—this moment right here. The intense way he’s watching me right now, like I’m pretty and interesting, even in these ridiculous clothes. The way his deep voice vibrates in my chest and awakes those damn butterflies every time he speaks. Scarlett and Rowdy’s meet-cute has got to be one of the most unique I’ve read in new adult romances. Scarlett is not at all a party girl and couldn’t give a crap about them, but she tags along with her friends to Jock Row, where are the jocks live, so she can get out of her apartment. When a few jocks think she’s a buzzkill, they send someone to kick her out of the house (because that’s what they do) – and it’s none other than the baseball team captain, Rowdy Wade. They’re both annoyed at the other but they don’t leave each other either once they step outside the house. Instead, they get to talking, exchanging quips and funny stories, and getting to know each other. Scarlett is relatable and witty, Rowdy is charming and adorable, and the two of them made such an endearing couple. Take is slow, my brain tells me. Run with it, and run as far as you can go. I’m an athlete—a champion. I play hard and jock harder, and these little games I’ve started with her? I’m playing to win. The growth of their friendship felt so genuine and real, and it felt so natural for that friendship to develop into something more. Every Friday for weeks, they’ll meet up in front of the party house just to talk, play games, eat. They are ADORABLE as friends, but as more? It’s combustible. I couldn’t get enough of Scarlett and Rowdy and the way grew to like each other, and then love each other. They had me smiling and giggling because they were just too cute. Right now, I can’t wait to see what else is in store for us in the Jock Hard series! Thanks to the author for generously providing me an ARC to review.
