Larger Than Life
Reviews

I have never read a novella before. A lot of times I find it hard to read small books, because they just don't seem worth it. Well anything written by Picoult is worth it. Larger Than Life is the prequel to Leaving Time, Picoult's new novel coming out later this month. I had to read it and sadly it only came in eBook edition, so I went out and bought an eReader and I am very glad I did. I still do not like eReader's, but this story was worth it. I wasn't sure what to expect from a prequel to Picoult novel or a novella in general, but it was a sweet story full of love, adventure, heartache, and loss. Which is what a Picoult novel is always packed with, so I am not sure how anything less could have been expected. The fact that this story was under 100 pages didn't matter at all. I wish there was more. I wish it hadn't ended so soon. I wish Leaving Time would come out quicker. The story of Lesago, which was intertwined with Alice Metcalf's, was wonderful. I fell for the elephant immediately. It was as if it was one of my friends. It made me laugh and smile and ultimately tear up. Jodi Picoult has done it again. I don't think reading this is a necessity to liking or understanding Leaving Time (all though I can not be sure), but I would recommend read it though, because it is a short, brilliant read.
