A very fun time-travel-slash-dark-academia story. Not perfect but very readable page turner. Looking forward to the others in the series!

I liked this - it had funny dialogue. The characters are also distinct. There is something about it that I didn’t like as much but I can’t put my finger on it. The story was interesting and I feel like this one probably sets up the next one quite well.

This book didn’t have beautiful, detail-oriented writing. It also didn’t have a great plot, choosing to just rush from one idea to the next. That being said: it was fun, light, hilarious and clever. Such a great easy read and I loved it. As long as you don’t take it too seriously, it’ll bring you on a fun ride through history. On to the next one: A Symphony of Echoes.

I really really struggled to finish this. I started it as a bit of time travel fun but unfortunately, it just did not pull me to turn the pages at all. 
So many things that were tiny felt like they were blown huge and large events were brushed off and forgotten about, plus I wasn't a huge fan of the main character which is a shame.
The only reason I finished this was because I'd invested too much time in it, I felt no real desire to find out how it ended.

Wow. Rollercoaster ride all the way through!! I laughed (out loud), I cried (whimpers) and I relished every bite!!! I call this "hysterical/time travel fiction"!!! And Max is a heroine who takes no prisoners!!!

           I just wanted this to be over at the 50% mark. 
I really enjoyed it from about 15% to 40% and then I just HATED IT. It wasn't even that anything was really thank different I just couldn't suspend my disbelief any longer. All the men in this novel are absolutely awful - and the main character just deals with it in a unfunny and quippy way. 

This just isn't it. I'm a fantasy reader, and the fantasy was just not it.

A thoroughly delightful and gripping adventure.
I started this book only because of the unusual title and it turned out to be a great read to start the year with. Being a history nut myself, I couldn't ask for a more amazing adventure. I mean, historians who travel back in time to confirm things actually happened. The dream of a lifetime. 
There were a lot of lovable characters, as well as irritating ones, who in the end got what they deserved. 
The villain, was a bit predictable, but that's OK as the story never really was about him. 
It was funny, it was adventurous, sometimes sad, and always exciting. 
I can't wait to read the next book. 
Definitely worth it!

Everything you need to know about this book is right there in the title. You're immediately thrust into so much action with barely any room to breathe. My head felt like it was spinning the entire time trying to figure out what was going on. This is one of those cases where less would've been better.

I bloody loved this book! It was fun, clever, exciting and emotional at times too. I adore Max and cannot wait to read more about her and her adventures with St Marys! Great start to a series :)
