i'm never going to emotionally recover from this

I think this is a brilliant trilogy. It's enclosed. It answers all of it's hanging plot threads. It pays off every theory you come up with brilliantly. And it's very, very serious without being dark, boring, and unlikeable. These characters are absolute bastards and that is entirely the point. The characters grow. They change. Sexual Violence isn't a shorthand for character growth. People learn from their world changing mistakes. I really, really enjoy this series because it is grimdark without necessarily being grotesque, grim, and dark. At least not all at the same time. And it's the first fantasy trilogy I've read in a few years that hasn't felt like it reached it's page limit and forced an ending. It's calculated. Planned out. And executed beautifully. Whole series is worth a read.
